Once they successfully get a crime unit to take down these sites, then it'll only be a matter of time before anti-war sites, anti-government sites will get taken down as well.
At that point the government will force web site creators to get licences to publish on the web and will of course block/deny/delay sites that would compete with commercial media monopolies.
Don't think just because it's in the UK it won't happen here. With Bush in charge you can bet it's only a matter of time.
So they want to surpress free speech in the gaming community? I saay boycott this piece of shit when it comes out to send them a message, that is IF it ever comes out.
This has NOTHING to do with security but more to do with resentment overseas of BUSH and his lies regarding Iraq. The administration knows for certain that the net result of votes cast overseas would be against Bush, so they come up with some bullshit excuse regarding security.
It's clear to see especially when Paul Wolfowitz is involved.
>> So what you're saying is that after Bush gets re-elected... suddenly Diebold's systems will be deemed unusable and a new system will go in to place?
Exactly. If you remember, paper trails and other improvements are due to be legislated in 2005. Nice and convieniently AFTER the elections.
Sit back and watch the show. Bush will win no matter how much the population is against him.
Of course voting machines are vulnerable. They were designed by Diebold that way, so Bush can once again steal an election.
With no audit, no paper trail, and no accountability, it'll be a cake walk. Of course if they get exposed, they say "We didn't know" and then put the decision into the hands of the Supreme Court of Kangaroos and you know how that story goes.
There is a reason that the Republicans are fighting for a paper trail. The 2004 election is way too important to corporate America and the NeoCons, to let a silly little thing like democracy get in the way. Fight it all you want, Bush in coming back in the '04, hook or by crook....most likely by crook.
Way to piss people off more and disinterest them towards music in general. You can blame the drop on theft but in reality people are spending more time in front of their computers and less time listening to music, thus out of "sight", out of mind.
The original Napster was the best thing for the music industry and they shot themselves in the foot. It encouraged listening to music and gave people a reason to purchase the full CD. It was the ultimate music sampler and they went and fucked it up beyond repair. Now they will reap the damage they have done and more so with suing people.
Hopefully it will put them out of business...I know, I know, the recording artists would be eating trash before the RIAA lost a dime.
I recently read that you will be making a decision shortly on adding an additional tax to electronic media in order to satisfy the recording industry's claim that everyone who buys media is a pirate.
I am wondering why stop there? Why not add a levy for the movie industry for all the pirated movies being stored, or the software industry for all the pirated software, or the printed media industry for all the scans. For example, to make sure all these industries are getting their share, a single blank CD should be charged a levy of $500, give or take a few dollars. The beauty of this outrageous price is no one will buy any media and thus stop pirating since that's all anyone does.
Of course legitimate businesses might suffer but since they are by far the minority according to the record industry, it shouldn't be a problem.
would require a voter-verified paper audit trail, ban the use of 'undisclosed' software and wireless communications for voting machines, and require mandatory surprise recounts -- all in time for the November 2004 election.
ARE THEY INSANE? Don't they know that Bush has an election to win. Anyway rest assured that corporate America isn't going to let a little thing like an election stand in the way of making sure their #1 cash cow doesn't get back into the saddle.
Yippee Ki-yay Mother Fucker...Bush will be back destroying America in no time.
This is all about the militarization of space. You can read their plans from the new american century website.

as will be discussed below, space dominance may become so essential to the preservation of American military preeminence that it may require a separate service.

If you've never heard of the NAC website, it's a think tank with all the leading NeoCons behind it. Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, Donald Rumsfield...etc..
Now they're raiding houses? This guy's life is ruined because of they're overzealous attitude. They are going way too far. I swear from this day forward, I will never buy a music CD again, nor will I recommend any music CDs and will advise all my friends to do the same. Until I hear that sanity has returned to these Mofos, I'm going to exercise my right not to give them any money, unless that's against the law as well!!
I think what hasn't been addressed is the fact that an anonymizer service is working that closely with the US government, which totally defeats the purpose of an anonymizer service.
I wouldn't be surprised if the government actually owns and runs the company and listens in freely using Echaleon from people that THINK they are browsing or emailing privately.
Animals are not sentient.
First of animal. Humans are considered animals, therefore you are already wrong. If you are speaking of other mammals, you've obviously never had a pet. The definition of sentient is:
1 : responsive to or conscious of sense impressions
2 : AWARE
3 : finely sensitive in perception or feeling
#1 speaks for itself. The reactions of a dog are not random, he will greet you with affection, growl at those he doesn't recognize and many other responses to stimuli.
#2 Does a dog know it exists? As much as any two year old child. The reactions of both are incredibly similar.
#3 Again dogs are incredibly sensitive to their surroundings. They know when you are upset, when they have done something wrong, and so much more.
Based on your response you obviously have never spent time with something you didn't eat. I would recommend you do, it's a rewarding experience.:)
I can't play my SINGLE PLAYER game because of this!
1) Check to make sure you are allowed 3party services and products 2) If not, Don't buy their products
Use the power of your dollar and boycott the band and the label!
Please be advised that these asshats will be suing everyone and everything connected to the internet.

You want to treat me like a criminal then why should I spend my money in your country?

Canada's making us look bad...solution: Bomb Canada, invade and steal it's natural resources, pollute the rest but give them a tax cut.
