I've got family that live out in the country, and their dial-up service was so slow and noisy that they could only reach 14.4Kbps for 5 minutes at a time. Naturally they dropped service and haven't tried it since.
if we weren't going to do what is best for their happiness and survival then the relationship was going to end at some point in the future unless she changed her mind.
You should have had this discussion *before* you were married.
Can't think of everything, though.:) I was a lot wiser about picking my 2nd wife than my 1st...
You're absolutely correct. I was thinking "put the residential-grade router in the cabinet with the switch", and my fingers typed "router" instead of switch"...

Except that it makes no sense for a bog-standard human without any cool toys to regularly rescue a sonic-screwdriver-weilding Time Lord, especially if she is a new companion.
business decisions aren't always made in a rational manner
Business has it's own logic, which encompasses shortsightedness along with regulatory and cost pressures, which is quite different from the math/physics logic that geeks like to think we have.
She's less likely to balk at something like that.
The trick will be attaching a monitor and kb in some fold-out arrangement.
any plan where a bureaucrat uses the word "e-skills"?
the people doing the real work on the inside had linux boxes on their network helping them get their day to day work done.
In 2001? Citation please.
IOW, I think you're talking out of your arse.
Where's the mod point when I really need them?
In 2012, I don't think there are any. 55 years ago there were, but even then, it was more starting at age 6.
Stick with "Hello, Moon", Dr. Seuss, etc.
most of the new shit in the Linux Kernel came from OpenBSD....
That requires documentation.

That's why I stick with Ubuntu 10.10 and the nvidia binary driver.
... routers and gateways to have any effect?
I state the obvious because who's already installing it on any but home routers so soon after release?

That's because your first, second and third thoughts are to blame Republicans for each and every calamity known to man.
Their Big {Orange,Grey,Blue} Walls were paragons of thoroughness and clarity.
Best news was that since it's was all done on computer, their on-line help system had exactly the same text as the dead tree manuals.
