I work for Intuit and can confirm that the DRM in turbo tax in definately gone.
I think long time users who left should give Intuit a little credit for listening to their loyal customers and come back, afterall most other companies would have just ignored the complaints and left the DRM in.
I'm with this guy...I don't get why all you slashdot users use a computer anyway. I can easily type out a document on my typewriter or send a letter to a friend using the postal service. This computer stuff is way overrated.
Actually Warehouse music in Flagstaff used to allow you to return opened cds. I used to always go by 5-10cds and take back the ones I didn't want. Bit me in the butt though when they changed their policy and I didn't find out until I tried to return 8 awful cds:(.
This was of course a few years ago when burners were so common. I doubt any place would do this now.
Yeah, but on the flip side aren't they pumping tons of development time into linux also. I mean isn't that what the whole SCO case is about. IBM developed off of what SCO is claiming to be their code and then released it to the community. I realize their main goal is to profit, but I also beleive they are willing to give back to the community.
Didn't you see the ad-
"Collecting data is only the first step toward wisdom, but sharing data is the first step toward community""
Yes you are correct. I saw this earlier on CNN before it got posted here. I was already having a heck of a time getting the page to come up.
I suppose the post on/. didn't help the situation though. I wonder how long it will take for me to ge the e-mail?
I would have to agree with this comment. I know plenty of family members who would go to walmart and see a brand new computer for $200 and jump all over it.
Then I'd be the first person they would be calling because they aren't sure why it looks different.
These are the same family members who bought the imac because it "looked pretty".

That worked great...thanks!
