  1. Re:Wings In Space on The Star Wars Alphabet Project · · Score: 1

Is this a contest of who can obsess over their odd sci-fi peccadillo better? Both groups are socially stunted. What better way to avoid interaction with other people of the same reality when you can obsess over the hot Klingon in Babylon 5? Just because some Star Wars fans obsess over the details a little more than Star Trek fans does NOT make Trekkies any less pathetic.

But what must his kids think of this project? Oh, wait... How could a man of such obvious social experience have kids? That would require having spoken to a woman.

With Napster out of the picture sites like Kazaa are the only place to file share, and they are shady shady shady. Napster was a terrific venue to listen to and download some music so that you don't end up with 500 cd's at one good song apiece. I have an extensive music collection which I have paid for at the record store, and more than half of it I would never have purchased without the help of file sharing. Thanks Napster. Blow me Kazaa and all of your porn sharing popup making virus laden cousins.

I didn't see anywhere in this article a degree to which the gamers played. I am an occasional gamer, and I lead a very normal life. I know some of the IT guys at my office, however, spend every waking non-work minute playing these games. And when I say waking, they sleep very little and the games almost control their lives. They won't even talk to anyone who is not just as crazy as they are. And they are looney. Picture the comic book guy in "The Simpsons".

"He who has the money has the power". What burns me is that there are pro-spammers in the legislature. These people are supposed to be representitive of the people that voted them into office. How many constituents do you think support spam? What kind of crap was ridered on that bill that made it unpaletable to the reps that voted against it?

Seems like more bullets for the Ghetto Lottery/Trailer Lottery gun. It is amazing to see how many "victims" come out of these two very specific demographics. Isn't there a national database of tort law offenders? Maybe if there was, people would stop this meniacal idiocy. We, as legitimate consumers, are paying for these windfalls for these losers.

  10. Is this News? on National Do Not Call List Opens for Registrations · · Score: 1

There are two things that are going to happen from a DNC list. 1) The telemarketers are going to find some ingenious way to get around it, and the industry in general will remain status quo. 2) It will work and we will be blasted by some other annoying type of retail propoganda. We cannot win unless, as a whole, we stop allowing telemarketers to win. It is our fault that this is such a problem. Stop buying things from companies that use telemarketing as marketing. If the phone company calls you, tell them you want to be removed from their service. If your credit card company back solicits you, cancel the card ON THAT PHONE CALL. Telemarketing is a problem because it works.
