    Basement?

We all know this is going to be in the middle of your living room.

Reference: Look at about any picture submitted by geeks to /. and not only do you see every computer they've ever owned in their living room, but most of their possessions as well. Shoes, cot to sleep on, clean clothes pile, dirty clothes pile, soda cans, crumbs, beer bottles, video game controllers, and the gratuitous cat or dog.

Drank all my scotch, used my ATM card, and wiped his ass on my pillow.

Of course the 10.3.5 updater did fix the nasty kernel panic issues I've been having with 3 identical Maxtor 160GB firewire external drives. Before, trying to use more than one at a time would cause a kernel panic on boot-up.

After running the update all 3 drives can now be used on boot-up, turned on and off while the computer is on and everything.

    Ah. Back to hot swapping.

  5. Importing from AAC on Wal-Mart Music Download Service Launches · · Score: 1

I just tried to import some iTunes music store files with Felt Tip Sound Studio 2.0.7 and worked fine, and amazingly fast. I imported using quicktime, and it let me save it was AIFF (regular CD quality, post AAC compression) or several others, but not directly as an MP3.

    Felt Tip.com

I use this program to re-encode files for Final Cut, because MP3's make a shitty popping sound when final cut imports them directly.

Irony of it is, this program was given out free by Apple for their .Mac subscribers a while back. Wonder if they know it defeats their DRM?

If only Mapquest worked as well as the Infocom games.

I remember trying to get my friend's character lost by walking randomly when they left the keyboard.

Meanwhile Mapquest will try to have me circle the block while driving down a straight road. Maybe it's my just desserts!
