With most VCRs these days have RCA inputs you could hook up a line out to your radio and use the timer functions of a VCR to record audio only on a tape. (no station setting ability unfortunately).
Wonder if there's any VCRs that pick up AM/FM broadcasts directly?
Or better still, some sort device (ala band expanders) that will allow your VCRs tuner to pick up AM/FM?
MSG-1 is also flying a payload for receiving and relaying, almost in real time, data from automated stations on the ground. In addition, a special transponder will relay distress signals from ships, aircraft and any other vehicles equipped with one of the beacons used by the COSPAS-SARSAT international search and rescue system.
Hopefully it doesn't respond to these calls.
(think Star Wars laser type stuff).
A thin film of water or oil can fill the crevases and make the bonding much stronger, if you want to try sticking your fingers to things. Don't try hanging off the ceiling, though:)
I've heard that superglue also aids in the process.
Given the prices of these things I'm suprised that someone hasn't hacked up a substitute.
Of course I have no idea how difficult this is, but people have gone to extemes on this sort of thing before.
At least with fax spam you don't get spoofed addresses and the like.
Or then again maybe there's a bunch of guys running around with a fax machine in the back of a van and phone cable using your phone line in the dead of night...
Yes, but if it works well and looks nice people are going to want to know more about it.
except perhaps for "the average user, is probably only dimly aware they are using Windows" sort of user.
Not having experienced macrovision I'm now sure that I don't want to.
That's a real screwed up situation.
No doubt tomorrows display devices will fix the problem:-/

The pursuit of power and status is what is at the root of the problem. Money is seen as a means to get and maintain power.
What is needed is to fix the people. Attitudes and belief that people hold that say it is OK to let these sorts of things happen are what needs to change. Then the rest will follow.
Yeah, and I'll sell you an 8" disk to go with that! ;-)
