Been there..done that. Well, not exactly that, but it was a similar idea. At the time I was learning Python and wrote (for my first script in it) a pr0n leecher for usenet. It had multiple search and filtering capabilities, as well as duplicate prevention. Maybe I should rewrite it and release it..for the good of humanity.
Even if it didn't ask for a password, I would still be using Preview over Acrobat. My main beef with Acrobat is that it takes forever to start and is much slower overall than Preview.
Almost all of my friend's *don't* run Windows. They runs macs (and no, I don't pick friends based on their computing platform)

Speaking as an American slashdotter, I'm pleased you don't live here. I wish I was as lucky as you to live outside of the US. I think the reason why most people in the US think that the rest of the world is jealous of us, atleast as of late, is 9/11 has turned our older generation into a bunch of nationalists. All they know how to do is go "rah rah america!!" but in the end are driving it down into the ground.
As far as swearing allegance to the flag, I recall back in 2nd grade questioning why we swear allegance to the flag, what purpose it served, and should I really be pledging allegance to my country?
As far as Bush winning the election. I hope he doesn't, but at the same time I kind of hope he does in a sick way. I will be voting for Kerry, but if Bush wins I will be happy. Why you ask? Because if he drags this country through the dirt even more, maybe...maybe...the masses will wake the hell up. But until they decide to, I will be surrounded by the brainwashed nationalist masses and be streotyped along with them.

yes it would be way cool...except he was not born in the US and cannot become the president. The Presinator...I like the sounds of that..
.net shits all over everything else for pure developer productivity.
I disagree. I am much more productive with Objective-C and Cocoa then with C# and.NET. While C#/.NET or Java are both *halfway* decent, they still seems like an ugly hack of an API to me.
As for Visual SourceSafe, I don't think MS even uses it. I heard they use cvs or something of that nature.
If things continue in their current direction, I would be willing to bet that Gnome will become the desktop of Business and KDE the desktop of home users. Of course that doesn't mean 100% of people would be that way, but the "Joe Sixpacks" would.
I seem to recall Apple having an anti-trusted computing and drm stance. All it does is complicate things, not something that apple would want, since its a computer for "the rest of us" and such.
I don't think one has to worry about Linux dieing from Linus' death , but rather more of finding someone that has the leadership skills that Linus does to take over.
speaking of pop ups..imagine if they landed their way into some pop ups..even more havock for windows users. Sometimes I wonder when they will wise up...
I don't know about most people out there, but I use my mac for a few reasons: Software consistantcy, comfortable keyboard (White iBook G3), and Cocoa.
According to your little list of types of people that use macs, I fit in excatly...zero.
Think Troll.
That's a good idea, I think I will. Actually, I have been planning to for quite a while now, but have been waiting to finish school. As far as religion in schools, imo, they should keep that stuff out of schools. period. If a parent wants to teach their kid about jesus or mohamed or david or anybody else that deals with religion, they can do it in their own time and not with my tax dollars. *
*Note, if I misspelled anything, it was not on purpose, I am simply tired.
yep, that is true. The market is full of spammers, bust one, and all of a sudden you have a few aspiring spammers in their place taking the old business. Personally, I have no problems with spam, unless it is sent from a zombied pc.
and if you like bigger government vote Bush.

You could sell the car and get a few massive POWER systems...
If you had used Mac OS X since 95 and just had moved to Windows you would have marvelled over all the innovations there.
Like the speed that it can spread virueses!
Jokes aside, I think the only real innovative thing MS has done in Windows is...I honestly can't think of anything...solitare maybe?
the Florida fiasco put the last nail in the coffin for democracy in America...
:-)
While I am still urked about what happened in Florida in 2000, we aren't a democracy. We are a "free" republic

The first web browser was developed with NeXT and Openstep...

but the chrome makes it go faster! oh wait...
You are confused, the file selector belongs to GTK, not Gnome (which is made with GTK).
