Maybe none of the accountants who have to certify the results are willing to sign, now that these "issues" have been uncovered. Perhaps, they are having trouble covering it up and/or gettting someone to certify the results?
Remember that some months ago there was a "Senior accounting position" open in SCO? And we, in usual/. fashion, speculated that it might be due to inability to find somebody willing to sign his/her name under the mess that was going on?
I'm sorry to hear about your case. Any doctor that takes something THAT size from you and doesn't ask for at least one biopsy is a walking health hazard.
He fnially had it removed but no further treatment was ordered.
He didn't get a biopsy for the extracted mole? My biopsies (sp?) said that I was lucky, I got it removed when it was getting ready to turn malignant... (it was the size of a pencil eraser on my jaw - left an inch-long scar due to its diameter)
I constantly monitor my other moles... my wife monitors my back moles, although all she's finding is hair these days:'(
Do check out your moles. If you have lots of them, photograph them regularly to check if they are growing. If they are growing, have them cut out, ASAP.
(I've had about 9 moles surgically removed in the last few years... the scars are a bitch, but when moles decide to start mutating into funny shapes because they are bored with being round, well, cut me up doc!)
Jees, whos side are you on? The fact is, these people had absolutely 100% valid ID's period, we all want to be safe and to know that people are who you say im not, this is being done to save lives and if you don't like that you can get just out.
The fact, as you point out, is that the terrorists had 100% valid IDs. Nothing wrong would have shown up at the airport. They would still have gotten on those planes. The towers would still have gone down.
So, please, how does this measure save lives (in that context)?
So, you can be fired because you like rock-climbing? Skydiving? Table Tennis, since you mix with people who use toxic glue for their rubbers? Rapid-water kayaking? Or maybe you just got a mormon manager, or a muslim manager, and nobody can drink, even in their own homes?
Hell, even soccer! (I've had some *really expensive* knee surgery because of soccer).
Do you really think the gov't needs your fingerprint to track your credit card purchases?
Nah, not really, but the reliability of fingerprint scanners does give me the creeps... since "wasn't me" won't help you with protesting charges in your credit card anymore.
(Yes, I have had to reverse charges in my VISA. Imagine if they say your fingerprint is good enough and that's that, even though fingerprint scanners have been proven to be not too reliable *shudder*)
And how many people have you met that you've called smart that were just naturally intelligent but lacked knowledge (either general/common knowledge or specialized, as in a degree in something)?
Yet I have met people who, while being walking encyclopedias, couldn't think their way out of a wet paper bag.
And yes, I can name at least one person that I have met that I think that is VERY intelligent, far beyond his "knowledge". (And irritates the hell out of me because of all that unused potential, but that's another story entirely)
Your point is a good one, the ones that will shine will be the people for whom knowledge AND intelligence walk hand in hand (and forward;).
But there's a difference between "being smart" and "knowing things". What OP complains about, I'd call it "lack of culture/basic knowledge" before calling it "lack of intelligence".
A person with such lack of culture might not know why touching the stove burned them. An idiot would touch it again.
Of course, being non-intelligent usually goes hand in hand with lack of basic knowledge.
OpenGL is very much alive in the 3d market outside games.
And inside the gaming market, John Carmack singlehandedly keeps it current with id software's game engines.
Apple popularity has nothing to do with "OpenGL still alive as competitor of DirectX". The Q3 engine (and the doom3 engine as soon as it starts licensing) has.
Most movies I don't care to own. It isn't like music that I listen to constantly, I find that the time I have to watch movies is very contrained, so why waste it on a movie that I've already seen instead of going around the corner to rent one that I haven't?
Play with the Hive and win through cancerous spread over the face of the planet (makes for almost infinite cash -> buy the biggest army or buy your opponents to death or bribe everybody to elect you world leader).
Or play as the Eco-freaks... subduing worms is the most unbalancing ability ever!
Like they are going to dump their fancy sniper-telephoto-lens-toting cameras for the HP face blurring ones... "Hey, that's not any undernourished skank, that's Paris Hilton under that blur. Seriously! WTF you mean, get out of my office? You ain't buying my pictures? Sheesh!". Yep. Right.
And BTW, TFA says that HP has no plans to sell this.
Learning is pretty cheap. My school district uses more uncertified teachers than certified. Their average salary is $22,000 a year, and each one either teaches an average of 35 students all subjects (elementary school), or around 350 students one subject (middle/high school).
Now find one willing to work for 22k teaching inmates instead of kids.
Although, in some parts, the inmates would be safer than the kids, since the inmates are less likely to be packing guns...
I love the effect of AA, but my meager P4 2.4 can't always take the extra processing required. I wish they had tested the program on a lesser machine than a Dual Xeon. =0
Except that the AA is taxing on your videocard, and it won't matter if you have a dual xeon if your card is a Geforce2 MX200.

Not a monkey... a wookie!

maybe I'm jumping the gun on this post.
You think? ;)
(Note to self: put LOTS of ":)" and ";)" for the slashdot crowd ;)
Thanks for setting me straight, Dr. SoTuA.
Hey, I like that! "Dr. SoTuA... paging Dr. SoTuA!" :D

Oh, and healthy diet, so we are double-doomed :D

No, probably just somebody who thinks run-of-the-mill fingerprint scanners are reliable, and does not care for privacy implications.
what about "natalie portman naked petrified hot grits"?
Bah, I'll never use a nanoscale latch computer. My transistor computer sounds warmer and less sterile! Plus it distorts prettily...

It's not that it didn't render, it's that the text rendered about a screen to the right (ergo in the black)

Here in Chile, minis start at $429000. At today's rates, that's like US$740. For the basic model.
