  1. Free market on Microsoft Dislikes Nations Trying to Escape Lock-in · · Score: 1

the basis of a free market is that if there is demand for something someone will supply. Its odviously there is demand for a cheep well designed operateing system ilustrated, by the fact that 3 contrys are haveing to step up and fill the void left in the market place by microsoft. This points to how strong that unforfilled demand is the free markets have spoken, they they have declared what they want it isn't up to us to fight microsoft to get what we want its up to microsoft to service us if they do a good job we reward them with money if they fail "as they most certainly have of late" to give us what we want they deserve to perish at the hands of the markets and make way for a company that can serve the cosumer better

copyright peroids have been extend to 50 years in the eu and 100 years in the states this is to long the 14 years intialy stated was perfectly adequit for compensating artists for there work were that still true there would a much larger range of music in the public domain basicly anything before the 90's were this the case i would feel that haveing to pay for the latest music was fair because if i dont want to i can listen to older stuff however as it stands thats not true and copyright is treated as if it were perpetual i do not agree the law is fair so i will not follow it the need to be changed to an acceptabled compromises the RIAA is behaveing like a spoild child i am willing to make consesions if they are however that isn't going to happen so and im certanly not going to give up my point of view just so they can have there way

in other news the RIAA has anounced a new step in its fight against file trading "we can't let this violation of our copyright continue and so are pressuring the goverment to alow copyright violations to be punisable by soddamy" stated a slightly excited RIAA spokes person thought the bill has receaved inital approval there are still certain issues to be decided such as how much it will cost to have the parts of the constiution forbiding brutal sexual abuse changed and wether the defentants will be entitled to lubrication the RIAA expects to have these issues ironed out once payoffs to large goverment angencys have been negotiated
