The only solution for people who don't know what icons do what: Try them!
Play with them, see what happens. Click the little "deskpad with a notebook and pencil on it" and see what happens. (oh, it cleared my desktop of windows...) I learned almost all I know about computers by trial and error.
Even if the icons make no sense, if you click them and see what they do, you'll associate those little pictures to what happens.
Eradicating poverty doesn't make much money, it actually would really mess up the capialist system. If the average poor family makes 1000$ a year, and the average middle class makes 50000$, what happens when the poor make 40000$ a year? the middle class will be making 100000$. It's called inflation. As long as capitalism exists, poor people will exist as well.
At the end of the day we don't need to invoke mysterious agents from the stars to explain the start of life on Earth. We already have both religious and scientific explanaitions that satisfy all rational criteria for the origin of life.
No rational criteria exists to justify any religious explanations. How is it rational to think "some super high power being said 'be' and created everything"? Sounds pretty shaky to me. Sounds like... something primitive man thought up to explain things he couldn't understand.
The human/computer interface is the weakest part of the chain. This is because humans are imperfect. Starting tomorrow, I will begin my campaign to remove the weakness from that chain.
Watchout!:)

I wonder if we could sue our government for malpractice if they actually allow all this. They are here to represent _our_ needs, right?
Our needs? no... they are their to help big business. That's about it.
What I find amusing with this is how ferverently people here support Open Source, free beer, freedom of information, screwing copyrights, etc. And yet, when it's their own stuff that's being used like this they are all against it. How is it different if we all distribute MP3s from some high profile band, or distribute your publicly posted comments?
One thing i've heard is the "if something I did makes money, i want a cut". Which goes against the whole opensource concept. How about all the people who contributed to Linux, and Redhat sells a distro for profit. They are not getting a cut from that. But that's ok?
I read the book series when I was in highschool. I actually rather liked it. I thought it was a good commentary on our socitiety. Of course, it was written before L. Ron went insane and invented Scientology.
This is why we have problems as technology advances. Instead of using common sense and applying the current guidelines to this new technology, they jump the loophole and claim, "well it didn't say we couldn't alter LIVE coverage".
I found that page on communism to be rather exaggerated. Most of the examples compared the whole Communist idea to one facet of our Society here in the US.
It disgusts me how easily people can be fooled. Sometimes I am embarassed to be a member of the human race. Honestly, people don't look for any sort of evidence so support their opinions. They just look at what everyone else is doing and decide to hop on the bandwagon
You don't know how correct you are. Basic human psychology: people naturally look for evidence to support their own beliefs. It's stupid, but i've come to believe that the human race is pretty stupid.
As for hoping on the bandwagon, that is true as well: in a group, people act as sheep, following whoever can muster the charisma to lead. While i really don't agree with most of the bible, there are a few comments it makes that ring true. Humanity = sheep. we follow whoever claims the staff, until someone else can challenge them for it.

Playstation in the back. So you're kids/friends can play on long trips. Makes sense to me.
I think you're just jealous you couldn't afford to build one yourself.
Freedom of religion, as long as you are not gay/lesbian and believe in christianity.
LOL!
Wow.. touchy. Work for ebay do you?
I was suprised to learn that the Earth at the center myth is still belived by some people.

Explain plz.

There are problems with taking things literally that were written down who knows when, by who knows who.
idiots
This has got to be a joke

if you don't trust them, how can they help you?

Use a device to shut off the brain impulses to your limbs, and simulate the returnback nerve impluses via computer.
Why is a clergyman's death more signficant than the average person's?
I personally wouldn't care less if some people are horrifed that i died without being brainwashed by them.
