I've played many PC based FPS. I played goldeneye and hated it. The controls seemed stupid. However, Halo was the first console based FPS that had controls that worked like I thought a console controller should work. Playing Halo co-op was the most fun experience I had with a console.
Even now, I still get together regularly with a group of guys and we drink some beer and play Halo. Bringing an Xbox over to someone's house is much easier than a PC. (plus it offers one a chance to get away from the wife and kids).
I don't claim that Halo single player was all that great. But I've had more fun playing Halo with friends at 1am than I have with CS.
I think there is something more to this. I could never hold a PS1/PS2 controller for more than a few minutes without getting cramped hands. However, the Xbox large controller fits in my hand perfectly. (though racing games where lots of constant trigger use is required does cause a my finger to cramp)
But I've also heard it the other way. Is it a hand size issue?
Most organized labor union have used this failed law as a guidline to barter contracts with. In the states were the unions have more control you will see more of them enacted as state laws were others get them from union contracts. You can tell a union state by the high prices and tax rates with medium high unemployment but alot of people with job actually make more. The non unnion freindly states tend to have more people employ at lower wages, the cost of living is lower but people have to work 2 or 3 times as hard to make the same wages.
what? Seems like the law is doing pretty good. If union states pay more, why is that a bad thing? I'd rather make what I make doing the work I do (just getting by), than have to work 3x harder just to get by.
The big issue for me are the cases where the stupid machine just locks up and does fuck all for 20 seconds or so. CPU meter shows 3% utilization, no disk activity. What is the stupid thing doing?
Same here. I experience this quite often on my dual AMD 1800 box at work (winxp). Often a ctrl-alt-del will show (explorer.exe) as "not responding". Frustrating.
It's all about who has the bigger lobby. The *AA or the relatives of 80-year-olds who have kicked off.

Agreed. Rich people asking for sympathy about money always amuse me.
Welcome to "god's country". Home of the free, right-thinking hardline religious zealots.
I didn't see anything in that link that looked like an "agenda".
I agree with you, but if they are at your bedroom door, it is a little late.
I'd mod you up, but I don't have the points. That's the same thing I though of when I read the title.
Ever since work gave me this compaq n800c I've had lockup problems. And it's not your WinXP bluescreen. Windows has been rather stable.
Their little detection program claims that my laptop has the bad memory.

Right. Anything I hear that has religious undertones I automaticly assume is false. Religion is about controlling what people think, nothing more.
not...funny...any...more
You'll probably be modded down, but I agree.
I want an America that isn't full of easily amused idiots watching crap on TV.
??
How can you be for bush? He hasn't done anything good his entire presidency.
Indeed, before they turn this country into a place worse than Taliban controlled afganistan.
Freedom over safety. Applies to both Dems and Repubs. I'm sick of both parties trying to protect me from myself and "teh evil".
I'd rather deal with another 9/11 than have to live in a police state.
Well made points.
At least my cars last longer than 3 years, and have good milage.

+1 Funny.
Wow Intresting. That article gives a real good behind the scenes view of the whole diamond trade.
HA. Treaties Seriously?
Must be why we pursued a pie-in-the-sky missle defense sheild, which violates treaties we've signed.
Agreed. My grandma got new.net on her computer some how, that was a big pain to get rid of. Ugh.
Heard of Nimba? That log looks a lot like how Nimba/codered exploit IIS.
Posters on slashdot are artifical?
Ahh, but isn't the default user in Lindows root? (not sure on this, I haven't installed to verifiy).
