Yeah but you have to pay for Quicktime 4.0 and just from a person point of view, I think the player sucks. Especially when doing full screen. That interface is just a waste of time and resources.
By "cost effective manor", I meant that eventually the process would be tweaked and refined so that it doesn't cost billions apon trillions of dollars to send another lander to mars to incinerate in the atmosphere. Everyhting comes at a cost. We killed alot of people in World War II, so we can have cheap, effecitent power. That was the cost for us to have Nuclear Power. But we also didn't launch 3-4 nukes at random to prove it.
OpenBSD 2.7 improves support for high end system boards, SCSI controllers, ethernet interfaces, and adds gigabit ethernet drivers and IPv6 networking.
The first three were of no surprise, but the last two were mind boggling. Gigabit ethernet drivers? Be awhile before I actually pick one of these up...or for anyone else for that matter. And IPv6 protocols? I had no idea someone was trying to implement it. Do you know how much of a problem MS is going to have implement this? A new OS will be needed, I don't think a backwards compatible patch is possible for all of Windows 9X and NT. Linux will most likely not have a problem implementing this, but it might be awhile before it happens because it is not needed yet.
I'll admit though, there is one thing that BSD has that Linux does not. Girls looked damned good in skin tight, red leather and tiny red horns. (Anyone who was at the Linux World Expo in NY knows what I am talking about:)~ ). If not, visit Day 2 of our trip for a few picks. Look for the scanned custom badges that they were handing out. http://geeksinnewyork.n3.net
Only reason to do this would be if your operating system and BIOS were to be merged. So instead of your computer not knowing what it is loading, the BIOS would already be prepared for it. Other than that, I don't see how it could be made faster. If there was a way, wouldn't mobo manufacturers already implement it?
By licensing the technology...does that mean that clones of the Dreamcast could start to appear? Are we seeing a pattern here? Apple and PC. one makes clones, the other doesn't. One becomes extremely popular, another nearly bites the dust. We could be seeing the start of a Sega take over. Kiss Nintendo good bye!
If this technology proves to be flawless and is able to be implemented in a cost effective manor. I think you will see more funding and research behind it. The global implications of colonizating/terraforming Mars are obvious and have been looked at for many years. The only unfortunate thing is that each planet would be cut off from each other. THis technology, however, now puts us one step closer to achieving that.
Personally I believe this is a good idea...cause right now I have 4 different media players. One for MP3s, one for AVI and MPG, another for QT and another for Real Media. Now I know MPlayer2 can play MP3s...so that limits you to 3 media players...this relase will now cut you down to 2. What we need now is to get a codec released for mplayer2 so it can play them all. Or get some other program in there that will be able to use all the codecs. But alas, I doubt Apple will give Microsoft the ability to decode its media files.
He shoots he scores...thank you A/C.... I actually don't want M$ up here...all that shit would just start coming up here...and we don't need M$ clear cutting up here to print a few billion M$ product boxes...
First off, BC is on the other side of the bloody country. And the lanuguage laws wouldn't apply to the software. And if you haven't noticed you can get MS products in practically any other language...you gonna bash Japan next? Secondly the US is constantly recruiting canadians in the computer fields cause we kickass at them. Thirdly, you can keep Billy Boy and his DOJ crap where it is. We don't want em here.
I doubt very much they would use similar technology for landing this craft like the Mars Lander. Course you have to wonder, if they perfected it for landing on the moon, why would it not work on Mars?
Maybe we should launch something that would maintain a low orbit in Mars' atmosphere...gain a few readings of landing sites, atmospheric gases, etc...
Shove your correct spelling up your ass...I know its typo. I spelt it like that cause I felt like it. Just like when people spell crap like this: "l33t hack3r". Gee does that look right to you lame brain?
Not a bad idea, why instead of making it free download...make it half the price Intel sells it for. You'll make billions...and its completely legal cause it is open source!
btw, for some reason a direct link to the file would not work...so this is a link to the directory where I stored it. Just thought I would tell people ahead of time before they decide to flame me.
Look you jerk...mom and pop aren't gonna download Napster or Gnutella to distribute baby pictures...all files downloaded using those 2 programs are infact illegal (movies, warez, mp3, etc). That is all they are used for. I don't know anyone who downloads free/shareware or any other file that is not illegal using this software. Be a little more realistic
I think you are being a little nieve. The people using Gnutella are not your random surfers. These are the people looking for illegal material. If you can relate something else that might have the filename "youngest teen ever" that is not pornography, then by all means tell me.

Gee thx for that "what crack are you on?" crap. I had no idea that it was implemented stable in 2.4, but thanks for so bluntely pointing it out.

I did not know that...learn something new everyday
People tend to refer to IBM compatibles as PC's these days. Whether you like it or not you either have a Mac or a PC [in laymens terms].
Might be even possible to get a command line from the BIOS...that would be sweet. Manually configure options without the help of a GUI.

you obviously have trouble picking up his [quote] [unquote] subtle humour.
For someone who is obviously bashing those who enjoy Star Trek, you sure know alot of the technobabble.
no aliens would dare mess with earth if it were possible :)

yeah I know
But when was the last time you ran into a Quicktime 3 file? These days it is pretty rare...unless you have it backed up somewhere
One less media player you have to have installed now
