But, when a program launched with "runas" launches another program the second one will have the permissions of the current user and not the administrator.
Noticed this when trying to install something through runas, but it launched a license checking application that also needed to be admin, but wasn't.
Why not start a business specialiced in MMORPG Beta testing? I'm sure there is some kind of way this can work.
Example strategy:
Some helpdesk/support company can provide such a service. When they have a 'BETA Test project' they temporarly hire a couple of more agents to reduce the average load. Then they have all the agents play the game while they are not receiving phone call's and train them to correctly submit bug reports.
Just a thought, but there must be a way to make profit out of this!
There's one thing to this whole SCO thing that I still don't understand.
They are asking for lincense payments from consumers. If I'm correct isn't it the manufacturer of the product that has to pay the license, not the consumer?
Let me illustrate, XBOX games can be bought all over the world without paying something to Microsoft. Some of the money will go to MS, a part of the sales price or the manufacturer will have LICENSED the right to create XBOX games. People making windows stuff will either have used MS development stuff or will have had some kind of deal with microsoft (ok, this is a bit vague). But it isn't because you are using windows or windows related soft that you have to pay MS separately.
It can't possible that because you use an OS offered by someone that SCO has the right to sue you just because you use it!
Here in Belgium to solve the problem of roads being opened multiple times the company that wants it opened has to notify the other companies that it will do so. Then they have the opportunity to put their cables in as well. The cost of opening the road is split between the different companies that put in their cable.
A couple of years back a lot of new ISP's started putting cable and now all company buildings have wires from all the providers so they can switch to anyone they want.
This is very similar to desktopX. Which already has tons of free and paying widgest/objects/themes.
From the weather report to translucent fishies swimming over your applications, it's all there. Quite fun for some time!
Yeah! DOWN WITH THE NEW IT COLOR SCHEME! It's unreadable on my cracked laptop display.

Please do correct me if I'm wrong.
