I would argue that an application of this nature, is, in the long term, a bad thing for desktop Linux.. in the same way that OS/2's Win16 support actually served as a detriment to that platform...
In 2001, after Code Red infected some 350,000 computers, it aimed a similar denial-of-service attack at Whitehouse.gov. Network administrators were able to move the site from the targeted Internet address and sidestep the attack. Moreover, despite hundreds of thousands of PCs flooding the Internet with data, local network outages didn't happen.
The major difference here is that Code Red was targeted at an IP, Blaster is not, rather a domain.
Stop whining about pharaceutical companies and record profits. You clearly haven't a clue regarding the associated risks surrounding bringing a new drug to market. For every 1 that makes it 5 do not. Take incentive away from the pharma industry to put up with the billion dollar lawsuits.. go ahead.. just don't start whining next time you come down with the latest life threating illness and nothing is there to help..
It is an all out attack on the constitution from both sides. Republican or Democrat, either party cares not about you. Major parties have had to be dismantled in this county in the past because they no longer supported the majority of the groups they ostensibly represented. Vote libertarian, vote for the green party, vote for the consitutional party. Don't buy into the idea that, your vote is a wasted vote if you don't spend it on the Replocrat's.
The last comment is silly. If GNU/Linux were as prevalent as M$ Windows, does anyone really believe that the number of vulnerabilities would be less?
Don't forget SUNW!

It was my impression that the feds could only regulate interstate commerce anyways.. yes?
