Of PI what if the the rest of numbers PI in pie are 0. I really doubt though but it would be fun to find out. We may have the next distributed problem contest find out the next digit in PI. I did not get to read the article the site has been slashdotted.
This a one of the ways napster could become allright in the eyes of the RIAA. This does not answer the question since this is a paid service will people who have lots of harddrive space and bandwidth will get some type of discount or compensation for thier resources?
This is what competion is about even in the open source world choices help stream line everything. I have the choice to use what I want and how I want it.
They Should Counter Sue TechSearch
on
Patent Warfare
·
· Score: 1
For harrassment. Come on it could easily seen that Tech Search is nothing but a company goes around threating people with lawsuits in hope for them to pay thier stupid patent fee. They are abusing the what the Patent system in the USA was set up for. TECH SEARCH should have charges brought against them. They are the one that are abusing the system.
This the ideal combination for an "unlimited source of renewable electricity". The interesting thing about it is the fact it is put on a airplane. I guess this allow for longer exposure to the sun and more potent rays of sun light to convert to electricity. The only thing that I am wondering is how effiecent are the solar panels.
I know we want to find out what is out there and take educated guesses but we will never really know untill we get our butts on the surface of mars. Hopefully in a few years we can do it. I would like to see the pictures of the first man on MARS.
This is the question who has the right to a name. Companys even take away people names (Wally Amos).
This person was taken his frustration on the web and decided to create pages that insult a well known company
using thier own name. If you want to insult someone you want to use thier name. Hell Microsoft-sucks.com
as not been taken down. Companies are becoming so afraid of "Bad Press" they are trying to alot thing to stop
people from saying bad things about them. If these companies let people say what they want they are afriad
of impact on sales it will have. Also they should be afriad that do not let these people say what they want they
would impact sales. I guess these companies are looking out for thier interest but they are are not looking at
the BIG PICTURE here these action might start looking bad on them.
Is a crime to do what this gut did? Is it a crime to inspect publicly avialable servers for possible ways to attack it? If I look at a server just to see why it was attacked is that so wrong. I do not know. I guess the only reason it was done because he was a possible suspect. But is I you can not blame the FBI for doing what they did. I guess the moral of the story watch what you do they are always looking and keep a copy of your important data offsite.
Nintendo and Sega both make cool systems it would be hard for them to come together because they could not have decided on one single design if they did.
You all remember those picture when you loook at it you can see a old woman or a young one. This is just a different way of looking at a collection of starts and planets. Nothing more.
This is what I like about linux. It is not defined as what the "Controling Company Says it is" It is defined on what the user wants it to be. It gives people the control of thier computer at the most itimate level. But most people do not care enough to know things at that level that is why they want thier computer experience spoon feed to them. But I say in a few years people are going to ask for a change on how things workthey will demand control of thier own computers This is the Linux and BSD of the world will come into play.
They has a resonable time limit on patents 3-5 years seems to a decent limit. The real problem is that alot of things that are being patented are things that if was ask by any decent programmer they would have came up with the same solution. Well I guess the other/.ers are going to have with this one.
80% of all security break in come from inside. I think this an inside jobs that was made to like a "Hack" You never this just my opinion I have been wrong before.
Since most of us grown up on cartoons as "Adults" we still watch them. Hell my grandfather was wacthing them untill he died. It is funny how these cartoons are not really being only marketed to kids but also young adults. Just a another random thought.
At my University they installed zip 100 drives in every computer. It is working great. But there is one problem zip 250 some students and faculty have a Zip 250 and they can not use it in the older drives. Other than that I would say this has help everyone alot.
Even though we may agree with the ideas of microsoft we have to respect thier right to "thier creations".
I do believe open source can make a better product if done right. But that does not give any one else the right
to demand that other people also follow that same principle. If Microsoft does not wish for me to have
access to the thier code I have to respect thier wishes. If I do come accross thier code I would tempted
but I do not think I would get it because I know it is wrong.
UCITA was passed by Virginia and Maryland last
year, but only Maryland has enacted the law.
Virginia is still holding hearings on UCITA,
which is scheduled to become law in July 2001.
The bill will be up for review this year in Delaware, Hawaii,
Illinois, Iowa, New Jersey, and Oklahoma.
But I do think if a cracker gets away with the checksum and able to out a bogus MicroCode update then That I see as a problem or at least a messed up way to kill someone machine.
I wonder what now Microsoft has to do to save face in light of these action being taken agianst them. As a Big player in the world of softawre this will hurt alot of thier products. For instance if the source code for IIS was stolen I feeel really bad for people who run NT servcers hey could find an exploits even quicker and I would think it would be harder for microsoft to fend these type off attacks.
Microsoft is already working on this concept . But I do not disagree that this could help take OSS to a different level but it is far away from that.

I wonder has any has yet to challange the WIPO a decision in a court of law?

That is the first thing that you have to remember this is a business. They need to look into every possible way of help there company grow.
We use Red Hat 6.2 sparc at school in the CS/Math Lab. I am glad to see that there are more choices now for Linux on sparc.

And so does alot of people. Personally I set to a blank page then I decide to go where I want to go from there. But is just me.
