    I found for guest speakers alot of companies are willing to send people to do general presention. Also use your members as resource for speakers they have alot of knowledge to share.

    Sony will not let it happen. Not onlt is it sont's bread and butter they have Alot of Quality games that are played only on thier system. I think that sony will not only bring down the price of programming on thier system. They will find other ways to make money with PS2 such as Online Gaming. I do not think they are going any where soon.

    The problem with any "new technology" is the infastructure to support it. It is usualy hard to have a new standard
    replace and old one. Look at the case of fuel everyone talk about how we should change over from fossil fuels to
    natural gas. But is there no sysytem in place to take care of the demand. It is expensive to do so. In the case of HDTV
    the FCC does not want to play along because they know that there is alot of work involed. Thier major concern is the
    fact that they will create a standard that conflicts with others have a big mess on thier hand. So much for progress

    I alot of times the Marketing/Sales/Management make promises They can not keep. Which puts additional stress on the techies. I found this a cause of many stress related issue at my job.

    I run redhat at home 6.2 to be exact. I did not get 7.0 because I did not see any point in doing the
    upgrade at this time(I am busy with school). I have some problems with the fact that Red Hat
    released 7.0 with alot of apps that are buggy. The fact of the matter is that Red Hat made a bad
    judgement call are we going to hound them to Death About or move on. If you do not like the release
    then DON'T USE IT. We have choices here we have other distros we can use this is the benefit of
    have multiple distro you are not stuck with just one. You have choices this is the advantage of linux remember.

    When Big Companies do it it is easier for them to get away with it. Why they have lawyers and a staff to back them up.
    When individuals they get sued and have very few choices of action to take. The irony of it all.

    Then just have it compiled already with the patch that would make it work and include the source in the distro. Just because it is not in the main linux tree does not make it a bad thing.

    That does not stop people from adding a patch that address linux issue on the big iron machines. I do remember for intance the big memory patch. Linus did not want to put it in because it would not be as good for machines that have a small amount of memory. Even though Linus has not blessed does not mean people can not use it. As long as they distribute the source that will I do not see the problem with this.

    This will allow mainframe users to create different services on thier servers without tring to port it that platform. Also it would cutback on amount of resources needed to maintian it.

    I am glad to see the Library of Congress is backing up our rights as a consumer. If purchase an item as long as I do not make a truck load of copies to sell. I should have the ability to view and use the product in any manner I see fit. I believe people should get paid for the work that they do. Also I do not want to see people try and screw me over when I buy thier product.

    Furthermore the MPAA is more worried about Region Control than bootleggers. With region control they fix the price for a product in any manner they see fit. Even though you can get the same product else for cheaper. There is alot of bootleggers in China the deliver to surrounding countries. Is something they can not stop. Anyways they get a tax break because of boot legging. Well I finishing ranting.

    If this become a common thing I could see zoos for previously exitinct speices. I could see this as a big money. Come and see the only living Wolly Mammoth!! In the right right hands this can be a good tool but I do not think mankind will use this technology for the right reason.

    This would only encourage boot leggers to create find another way around region control. What I would do is first unencrypt the dvd with Decss then create a new DVD with a particular regions code. Now I have DVD that can be read in any region I want.

    Redhat has a bad habit to put things in the ditro that is too Bleeding Edge. They always have to fix it up in the point releases. In thier rush to look like they are in the front of the game they shoot themselves in the foot.

    a more viable solution to individuals. Since Opera is a good browser that
    is one more choice that is a good choice. The was also talks about using Opera
    for Linux in an embedded web browser has any one heard anything more about this.

    The main reason alot people like AMD is because they were considered the underdog
    in the processor market. Yes they have a great products at a good price. Now since
    that the underdog has almost caught up to intel. What will happen? What new and shiny
    product will intel come out with to impresses the public? Well they say that they are
    coming out with the 1.4Ghz processor at the end of thier fourth quarter. I do not think
    that will be enough to get back on track they are going to need something bigger and
    better soon or they will be defeated by AMD.
