Diplomacy is a blast! It's like Risk, but without the ramdomness of dice. This game is ALL about making/breaking alliances.
I used to really like a game Avalon Hill used to make called Titan. They don't make it anymore though and it's hard to find now.
Star Fleet Battlesis always a fun game if your up for reading binders upon binders of rules. I never bothered learning any other rules than for the Starfleet vessels though.
"I was in the theater with my friend when we first saw this commercial. During the silence immediately after the commercial my friend burst out "Cool! I should download that when I get home." Everyone started laughing."
When I went to see The Two Towers, such an add ran before the movie. After it was done, I heard a little kid behind me ask his dad quite loudly: "You mean you can download movies on the internet!?"
Actually Star Trek uses the Universal Translator, so if you overlook a fwe (ok, maybe more)discrepencies, you can assume that everyone's speaking in their own language.
Stargate SG1 on the otherhand. Do they have an excuse? They seem to be able to communicate with almost everyone they meet. The residents on other planets come from Earth, but thousands of years ago and from different parts of the planet.
Do the SG teams have UCs as well?
I recommend any game by Avalon Hill or Steve Jackson Games.
Illuminati is a favorite.

It was pretty funny.
It's not even the end of the first day of Open Beta and Fileplanet has ran out of keys and the www.worldofwarcraft.com site is down.
Not all of the FFs released in Japan were released in America:
Japan/States
NES
FF1/FF1
FF2/Not released
FF3/Not released
SNES
FF4/FF2
FF5/Not released
FF6/FF3
PS
FF7/FF7
and all PS versions are numbered the same.
Later on FF5 was released in the States on PS.
Most FF fans will call the games by their Japanese numeration.
It's a common misconception that that the arrogant worms sing this song. I actually thought so myself until I checked on their site just now.

Another game that you need to explore in order to harvest natural ressources is The Saga of Ryzom. Very nice scenery and wildlife.
