Actually, that was a premise behind a ST:TNG episode, as well. The ancient race that seeded itself on Earth, Vulcan, Kronos (sp? or am I a pa'tak?), Romulus, and so on searched the whole galaxy and found no intelligent life. It was only the later evolved races (hu-mans, klingons, etc.) that could therefore discover each other and the biological connection they all shared.

Um, Raleigh and the whole RTP area is about research and education, not manufacturing. Hell, there are three major universities and a bunch of smaller universities in the area. It's not set up for manufacturing. That's just how the US. Manufacturing is done is some places, and research in others. The two usually don't overlap. No, he wasn't. If Florida had been properly counted, Gore would have won even under our electoral college system. When you have Karl Rove and his band of thugs descending on election counting places shouting "Stop the count! Stop the count!" and a Supreme Court ruling against a state's rights to determine its own electors, you do not have a legitimate election.

You might want to let it go.

Chavez is not a dictator. He was legitimately and overwhelmingly elected in a fair election, unlike George W Bush (for example).
