> *bashes it into your head* Native code is faster than emulated code!
If you knew anything about real-time systems, you'd be aware that real-time isn't about speed, but about predictability. The system must be provably "fast enough" on certain criteria, which certainly doesn't imply that it has to be "fast".
The problem isn't with statistics. It's with reporting that presents numbers, ignoring the actual statistics. Statistics provides the tools to assess the importance of these numbers, and should be used more, not less in this kind of reporting.
The select - middle click system is so much faster to use (for me) that I feel crippled when running Windows. If you take it away, I'll hate you for it.
This reasoning fails, because if I can put a commercial product out of business with OSS without spending any money, they surely didn't have a valuable enough product, and *SHOULD* be put out of business.
You don't know what you are talking about.
MSN was sending broken pages to Opera, while Opera was perfectly capable of displaying the pages served when it identified itself as IE.
You can only be tried at the next level if the appeals judge (a judge at the same level where the appeals trial is held) accepts the appeal. There has to be some new information, or another good reason, as far as I know.
I can't say for sure, but I have the impression that justice is *at least* as well served by the Norwegian legal system than the US one.
Ok, I should have mentioned I've only tried with newer versions of the distros - I haven't been in this game for too long. But I assure you, if you try a recent version of one of the commercial distros, there's a good chance it will work right out of the box.
But I'll agree that it still takes a little more interest and patience to use Linux than Windows. However, the rewards make it worth it:)
If you want brainless, Debian is about the worst choice of distro you could make. It demands a lot of configuration, for instance for an Nvidia card. I've never had problems with my Nvidia card on ANY other distro than Debian. So, maybe you should consider RedHat or SuSe?
So, what is it?
They don't use "u" with umlaut in Sweden, anyway.

You're insane.

LabView is a pretty advanced visual programming language. I wouldn't use it for everything, though (that's an understatement).
Notice that in the 70's the discussion was that an increase in temperature *might* happen. Now we're discussing why it *is* happening.
Does this also go for USB flash memory sticks? I'm running 2.6-test6, and my memory stick doesn't appear as a sda1/sdb1 device or anything.

Obviously it doesn't... :-)
Absolutely correct, except it's Okokrim. I don't know if the O shows up correctly everywhere.

No, Emacs is better :)
