I don't care very much about most new features. I wish more energy was spent getting Bluetooth working better. Lots of people seem to be having issues with car audio in Marshmallow including me (Nexus 5X). My Nexus 4 was solid.

  9. Re:Phone camera? on Samsung Producing 5 Megapixel Camera Phone · · Score: 1

Megapixels have turned into a silly pissing contest. If the lens is small you get too few photons/pixel and the images SNR=sqrt(# photons) are noisy especially in low light conditions.

I like the Palm OS. It's simple, it works well and it doesnt try to be everything. I just bought a Kyocera Palm powered phone. I wish I could sync my Mozilla adress book easily on Linux with Palm devices

  18. Complexity on Gould Op-Ed: Genes' Emergent Properties Matters · · Score: 2

It is amusing to hear that now that we know that we have relatively few genes, we feel compelled to invoke some combinatorial arguments to differentiate ourselves from fruit flies. Most folks just want to 1) get laid, 2) acquire stuff 3) go to the bathroom. We read /. so we do need one more gene than our prokaryotic friends. These results should not come as a surprise.
