Depending on what mood I'm in depends on what I will listen to, but no matter what I'm listening I like to sing along to it too. It makes programming more fun! Maybe I'm just weird. =)
Kind of makes you want to think twice about allowing everyone complete privacy on the internet? Perhaps if they weren't anonymous they'd think twice about many of their actions...
And they've also invested in Be, Inc. Maybe intel is not so evil and just like to give monetary support to companies they think offer innovative technology in case they ever become big, they will owe something to intel. I wonder what would have happenned if intel had owned 10% of Microsoft's stock. 0.o
They aren't supposed to be for shooting down nukes. If you shoot down a nuke, and it explodes, you will still get the radioactive fallout. I think the best deterrance for nuclear weapons will always be diplomacy. These anti-missiles however are more aimed at countries such as North Korea or Iraq who are developing long range ICBM's (but who we do not believe to have nuclear capabilities). It is believed that within five years North Korea will have the ability to shoot missiles that can reach Hawaii and Alaska, possibly even California. I don't think there is much you can do if a nuke is hurling your way, but I suppose blowing it up and just getting radioactive fallout is better than letting it destroy a major city and getting radioactive fallout...
Last I checked, only states have different tax rates, not cities... And what would be easier, is if the tax percentage is charged from the state the vendor is located in. So if the vendor was located in Indiana, he should charge the 5% Indiana State tax, just like he would do if someone had gone to his store and purchased it in person. And a smart thing for big vendors would be to put their store in a state with really low taxes. It would be like the Luxembourg of America:P Okay, I think paying taxes sucks, but there is a reason we pay taxes, and as more and more people start to purhase things off the internet, I see that an internet sales tax may be needed.
All of you that criticize America have already forgotten: There have been studies that show that Americans have the biggest ego's in the world. I'm an American, and I'll be the first to admit it's true.
In our schools, our students have the most self-esteem in the world, and yet they perform much poorer than students in countries such as Japan (where they have a much lower self-esteem). It's like we can be stupid, as long as we feel good about ourselves!
So if you expect to post harsh criticism about the United States, just expect to get a harsh comment back. Ignore it, some of us are actually reading and processing your criticism and deciding whether we think it's a heap of crap or a valid argument.:)
As for the person who said it isn't valid in this day and age for all citizens to have the right to own guns, just think of what would happen if Canada invaded and we were all defenseless! Yes, you'd feel bad when you are forced to salute the Mounties as they march through the center of Podunk, U.S.A. in triumph ! By the way, that was a joke, and I mean it in no offense to the Canadians. =)
Okay, you're right, I agree completely, the victims are the people who now don't have any alternatives to MacOS besides linux. Be's move to x86 was probably the best move they could've made.
And I can't blame them for not wanting to reverse engineer. It isn't worth their time when they could move all their focus to x86 architecture.
I'm sure right next to the rom patch download there was a big warning message that said: "WARNING, DOWNLOADING THIS PATCH WILL NO LONGER ALLOW YOU TO UPGRADE YOUR G3 CHIP TO A G4 WHEN THEY ARE RELEASED!"
AHAHAHAHA CLASSIFIED AS A SUPERCOMPUTER BY THE GOVERNMENT AND THUS UNEXPORTABLE? You've got to be kidding me. Wait while I go get a brown bag to barf in.
I can picture some anti american terrorist group smuggling a Apple G4 computer out of the country so they can do dangerous things with it !
"Look, we just click on this pretty little icon here to destroy the entire United States!"
What? BeOS was not a 'happy making carrot' for Apple users. It was created by a former Apple executive (JLG) and it was suspected that Apple might buy it back to use as its next generation OS but things didn't work out, BeOS got turned down, Steve Jobs came back, revoked the clone licenses, released the G3, and then refused to help Be get the specs for the G3 chips. If anything, Be was another victim of their closed architecture.
PPC chips were never the problem, the problem is getting new G3 chips to work. And what did IBM do??? They released specs to PPC so people can build new PPC computers? Is there a major manufacturer that just suddenly sprang up out of nowhere and mass produced and sold these new PPC computers? No, there wasn't, and we have yet to see if there ever will be. So don't say that Be's claims are invalid because IBM did something that has so far caused no effect on the PPC market. That's just kind of silly. I like the BeOS, and I hope that there is a place for it in the current market. I understand that it doesn't have the userbase or strength of linux yet, but as long as Be Inc. continues to work on it, I will support it. Although I would really love to use BeOS on one of those pretty new G4's. =(
An ISP is still a COMmercial entity, so therefore I think the .com is valid. ;) I am in a college dorm and I don't even get an edu, I am always IP'd. :/

So basically it would disintegrate before an atomic reaction could take place? Neat. :)

You do realize of course that slashdot green is the same as Windows Green? And also, I believe it's called teal. =P

I think that would be King Kamehameha, the King that united all the main islands of Hawaii. :)

Instead of 'FREE KEVIN', we campaign 'LOCK UP OJ!'. :)
Yeah, hah! That was so funny and totally original. I haven't heard that a billion times before. =P
Ah well there is always someone to bitch about everything.
