The notion that these charlatans can somehow control said change in some beneficial way with global political structures, policies, and taxes (aka socialism) is even more absurd.     These leftist lunatics have been boldly predicting Armageddon ten years hence for 40 years. We have a big enough sample to know that their predictions are not reliable. We also have a large sample of their leftist political behavior. Ever wonder why startling advances in other sciences generate little controversy? You didn't see right wingers protesting the solution of Fermat's Last Theorem, or detection of the accelerating universe expansion. The contrast in scientific discipline of these fields stands in contrast to the chimpanzees screaming about climate change.

    Always comes back to climate change. Take a hard look at the field. Is it not the most politically tainted field of science since the Copernican model of the universe? Climate change is a socialist political movement. Their hysterical predictions never come to pass. It isn't ignorance that causes the masses to reject it, it is the lack of credibility of the field. Rationalize this any way you want.

    I completely agree. Such people are still common in the engineering ranks here in the Twin Cities. It is a fantastic untold story. Dozens, hundreds of innovative companies were founded by people from off the farm or rural America, many post world WWII. I consider these to include Robert Noyce, and Seymour Cray. aviation in Kansas, heavy machinery and agribusiness in the Iowa and Illinois. Medical devices in the Twin Cities.
