Definition: When a game is said to have "gone gold," it means that the code has been finalized and is ready to be duplicated for distribution. The term goes back to the days when recordable CDs were manufactured using gold film, leading the source CD to be called the "golden master." Unlike the music industry, it is not a reference to the number of copies sold. It will typically take several weeks for a game to ship to stores and become available to consumers after it has gone gold.
I'm curious why/. looks like shit while using IE8 or Firefox but looks pretty good on my Droid X's native browser. I was browsing from my phone during a phone conference yesterday and couldn't believe how functional the page looked.
So you'd rather just install an app without knowing it's going to take your data and sell it to the highest bidder? I'm not sure what you're complaining about, if you don't agree with the settings, you don't install. If you are unhappy about app offerings, create one yourself or hire someone to do it for you.
It's pretty screwed up given that NYC got one, and we didn't. And people wonder why we on the West Coast feel so resentful of the East Coasters. It's this sort of spoiled entitlement crap that really gets old. At least we here in Seattle have a meaningful connection to aviation.
At least the west coast got 1 shuttle and a trainer. The middle of the country got NOTHING.
I think those of us in "fly over country" should stop exporting our food products, use it as leverage to get someone to throw us a frickin' bone once in awhile.
It's a game China likes to play. For example, they are using the Fukashima Reactor problems to take cheap shots at Japan in general since those two countries have had a strained relationship for a long time. Smoke and mirrors, point out someone else's flaw to get them to overlook your own. It's how people with fragile egos act.
I've learned a bit about the Japanese education system in the past couple of years. Here is my very basic understanding. In high school you either take the university prep classes or the vocational prep classes. After high school you then move on to university or vocational school. Even the blue collar workers in Japan are getting a higher education, one that is probably more specific to what they will be doing.
Another incident involved a pilot being SUCKED out through the window in front of him (showing just how wrong the DISCOVERY mythbuster program is in its logic and research). He was SUCKED out and exposed to the cold and lack of oxygen for a long time AND survived.
What happened to the pilot and what the Mythbusters did are two completely different things. By the way, don't you remember when one of the front windows of the plane they were using blew out and sucked everything from the cockpit, including seat cushions, out the window? But that wasn't their test, their test was if a bullet hole would cause catastrophic failure, which it didn't.
The simple fact is that Myth Busters is a great example of bad science where they ignore recorded evidence and then twist the experiment until it doesn't resemble to claim at all. The clearest example was the "myth" of Jaws being able to hit a boat. So they tested the myth of a super sized shark hitting a boat, by using a smaller shark because Jaws was an unrealistic size... well? That is the myth, the myth is NOT real shark doing something real shark don't do.
Do you know how silly that is? I guess they should next test if humans can fly since Super Man can do it.... but somehow they need to find a real superhuman first. What could would it be for a fantasy shark do fantasy damage? Their test was if a great white could actually do that type of damage. In order to test something worthwhile, they tried to make the scenario as realistic as they could.
I'm not going to say Mythbusters does everything right all the time. But your are trying to compare apples to oranges with your examples.
What he got fired for is irrelevant. Sounds like a nerd's way of "going postal" is to delete as many files as possible on their way out.
Revenge is not a smart move. You are most likely going to get caught and it will ruin your chances at future employment as soon as a prospective employer does a background check.
As anecdotal evidence: Where I work there is a married couple that comes in at 9 and works until 6 (we have core hours from 9a to 3:30p, still have to put in your 8 hours/day though). They are in different groups, haven't accomplished anything special, and to be honest they aren't very good at their jobs. Somehow both have worked their way into being treated like a manager even though they still have the rank of a regular worker.
Only thing I can attribute it to is our management sees them as the last ones leaving the office in the evening and thinks they are more dedicated than everyone else.. even though they are the last ones in every day.
And yes, most of our managers are dense enough to believe it... which is why I'm looking for my way out.
Yeah, that's a good idea. Let's stop the programs so we have to lay off the scientists and the factory workers that make the high precision parts! That will help us out in this poor economy!
Why not? Microsoft already got in trouble in Europe for doing the same thing. From some of the stuff I've read, they have a valid complaint (if true) that Google is doing exactly what Microsoft got busted for.
I'm still amazed at how many people worship Google and think they behave like angels.
I use BT for downloading and sharing freeware/abandonware only. Why should I have to go through the hassle of modifying my settings because the ISPs have been forced by the recording industries to treat everyone as a criminal?
Is it possible he didn't hear "Japan" and thought the report was about India? If you hear the news from someone in India, your first instinct is that is where it happened.
And keep in mind it was after midnight in the US (east coast) when it happened. TV programming is very limited at that time unless you happen to be on one of the 24hr news stations.
As with any Apple product, I'll wait 1 year for the 2nd version to come that that finally includes the options version 1 should have had considering the price of the device.
My brother got his Associate's from ITT and Bachelor's from DeVry. Yes, his student loans will take awhile to pay off but the job he landed pays well and he often travels, so the company covers all those expenses. Before he was married he was always on the road, practically getting 20-40 hours of paid OT each week while having all lodging/food expenses covered.
On the other hand, my cousin is an optometrist. Her school loans topped $100k, she has to work 2-3 part time jobs just to fill her time, and none of those have great pay or benefits. The schools she went to are very respected.
So can you trust the "for profit" schools. I'd say you can trust them as much as you trust any other school. It's up to the student to make the most of the opportunity.

Think of how many jobs building and manning that ship created.
It's much better when rich people spend their money instead of hoard it.

Orange juice or lemon juice? I always saw lemon juice being used, I would think orange juice might leave behind some color.

What about Dayton? Ohio went to Obama.
All 4 end up on the coast, such a travesty. There was no need for NY to get one considering DC was guarenteed one.
Houston didn't get one because they had little to complement a shuttle, in relation to some of the other sites.

Rational and logical don't get your posts modded up when Microsoft is involved.

His name is "TrentTheThief"....
haha... sometimes I'll randomly flip off the empty room and mouth "fuck you" just in case someone has actually bugged my house.
Because I'm such an important person with an interesting life......
It looks like they strapped a couple blades to a charcoal grill.
I guess the definition of a 'flying saucer' has been watered down a bit...
Libya is nowhere near N. Korea.
I wasn't aware there was a St. Petersberg so close to my house in Ohio.... but it shows up on 2 of the maps.

Celine Dion should be paying ME $10/month just for the slight chance I am subjected to listen to one of her songs.
