  1. You can imagine where it goes from here... on German Cable ISP First To Deliver 4700Mbps Internet Connection · · Score: 2

    He fixes the cable?

  2. Re:As Usual... on NIST Releases Study Of CD/DVD Longevity · · Score: 1

I've found the best approach is to maintain the data on a redundant RAID array...

Really? A redundant RAID array of independent disks?

  3. Re:Microsoft will pull their own tricks again on Will Linux Save Microsoft? · · Score: 1
"Keeping /. free of grammatical errors for 3 years."

I don't know whether that's supposed to include spelling too, but if so, reset the counter starting today: "refrigerator" doesn't have a "d" in it.

  4. You're absolutely right. on Battlebots Starting On Comedy Central Tonight · · Score: 1

I was disappointed to see that they have evidently decided to market BattleBots to kiddie crowd. Clearly they don't get the underlying coolness and unbridled geek factor but are going for the quick sell based on WWF-style spectacle. I'll probably hold my nose and try to watch anyway...

  5. Applescript "was"? on Natural Language CLIs? · · Score: 1

I seriously doubt your knowledge of AppleScript. This scripting system is alive and well, under active development by Apple, and making a lot of money for a lot of companies through system automation.

A "read-only" language? What on earth is that supposed to mean? I write AppleScript almost every day.

Thank you. I was gonna point out that distinction myself.

  8. Like Thom? on L.A. Times Columnist Says Geek-Autism is a Good Thing · · Score: 1

I think Thom Yorke of Radiohead -- unquestionably a brilliant musical genius -- qualifies in this category. His social skills, at least in an interview context, are downright bizarre. I hope he never changes!

  9. And? on Barcode Tatoo as Permanent ID - Arrgh! · · Score: 1

Did any such meltdown occur at Chernobyl?

And which third of which land was it that was poisoned? Seems awfully arbitrary to me -- as does the interpretation of most prophecies...

  10. "Ann"?! on Forum:Blair Witch Project · · Score: 1

You sat through that whole movie and didn't absorb the fact that the character's name was Heather?...

  11. Say, Biff...? on Forum:Blair Witch Project · · Score: 1

That style of writing you've cultivated is just about annoying.

  12. You are correct. on Return of The Onion · · Score: 1

  13. Microsoft in the market on Be Inc. IPO launched · · Score: 1

"Microsoft has already proven that nobody can stand against them when they play by the traditional rules in the OS market."

    When was that, again?

  14. Nice work! on A Pretty Good Slashdot Parody · · Score: 1

This is worthy of a link from Slashdot -- unlike that lame-ass "Hashsnot" page.

Apostrophecolon was a true parody. Very well done! Kudos to the reponsible party.
