Still, Windows XP is still a bit complex for what's needed for a job like this. On the other hand, is there even any FOSS/Linux solution available? It probably needs to at least display video, animation, receive/send timing, etc.
An excellent way to create a password for non-english speaking people is to take an english word and write it the way it sounds to you in your native language. Example: password => pÃÃswÃÃrd
ThisReallyWorks -> TisRiliWÃrks
Now you're welcome to crack all my passwords.
It's a nice idea, though Slashdot doesn't like scandinavian characters. But not all systems accept characters outside a-z, and using too special characters can make you dependent on the keyboard layout.
I will cede to Master Kim's assessment of the computer's strength as 2nd or 3rd dan, of course, due to Master Kim's own rank.
That assesment's a 2nd or 4rd amateur dan, not professional dan as Master Kim is, so your calculation is probably reasonable. I.e. 2-3 dan amateur being equal to a 2nd kyu professional, if such a rank would exist. Not that I'm sure what the rank difference between amateur and pro ranks are, though.
"Lapland" is more or less the area where Sami live (a.k.a Lapps (not PC)), more properly called Sápmi. It's an official province in Finland, and is also a historical province in Sweden, but the name is originally from the people that live across the northern parts of the whole peninsula.
That's because when you say "Santa Claus" (Coca-cola style), you're not talking about exactly the same guy as someone saying "Joulupukki", or "Father Frost". Santa Claus is a mashup of several characters, people and myths, and depending on the region and culture the people and myths included vary, he might look different, have a different name, visit on a different day, do different things, and so on. The reason why it's easy to feel it's all the same is because the different traditions have been drawn closer over time, or even mixed together completely, not because it's all the same from the beginning.
This way, Santa Claus might be from the North Pole, but I tell you, Julgubben is from Lapland, and don't you dare destroy my childhood dreams!:)

Don't complain too much. If all we manage to do is reduce pollution, I'm totally fine with that. I'm also fine with people taking more responsibility for what they do and consume, regardless of any effect it has on global warming.
I find the article to be rather flamebaity, actually. What he really means is: the interface for self-signed certs should be less heavy on the fear-speak.
After that, a lot of ranting, saying that Firefox's behaviour is somehow incorrect, that Firefox should be forked if this doesn't change, all the while offering no solution whatsoever.
No, it's far less than that, actually. This page says 109 bits of entropy, which sounds about right. More variation and larger character space would be better.
The nature of a house is inherently public. But after it has been built and people move ine, it is no longer just a house, but a home, and a home is not inherently public.
He said salvage logging is good, not that what actually happened was good. Try your eco-propaganda on someone who's illiterate, such as yourself. Maybe you can fool yourself.

It does, yes, but an attacker will likely know the algorithm you used. Assuming he doesn't gives no security at all.
Yet another example of how copyrights dont really provide any incentive for high quality production.
Lay off the coffee for today.

I find that waiting for code to appear in front of me is a very poor method of production.
Hey, it works for me. Admittedly it's all in green and falling down.

But we're all nerds here, not geeks!

2008 replied, surprisingly they said Firefox gets stuck, but Opera doesn't.

But how would you co-opt the community with an open-source license? I mean, if it passes OSI's criteria, then what leverage would that give?
Blind people can't use those, the phone gives no feedback apart from the screen.
You mean they publish politically incorrect information? Gasp! How dare they!
No, just plain incorrect information, apparently.

Meh!

Nope, just cutting and pasting.
...And then become a worldwide cultural phenomenon for animation and video games?
They have one of those already. I think they'll be moving there even more in the future.

Imagining a space suit for a flaming olympic torch... I have to say it is the most ridiculous and awesome thing at the same time.
LyX is an excellent front-end.
Maybe it's so no locals would get the idea of getting one of these connections.
The tangly cord is the primary reason to avoid them, cancer is just a minor inconvenience in comparison.
