This reminds me of a story: A guy was speeding along many others along a highway. He was later pulled over by a policeman. The guy cracked, "But everyone was speeding, why did you get me?" The police then asked, "Have you ever gone fishing?" "Sure.." "Have you ever caught them all?"
rapidly is not fast enough... when can we expect a full non-DV 4MP camcorder?
I'm not saying they're not making progress.. it's just still not up to par.. or rather, that the lag is definitely not catching up with the size.. sure, you have a 4 Gig CF, but how long will it take for me to, say, back up a chunk of my HD on it?
is still the time it takes for a camera to transfer from on-memory to the card... no matter how big the card is, until this time is reduced, it'll still be hard for some applications..
But it's definitely good.. I use a CF-Reader on my laptop instead of a diskdrive, and obviously, a 4 GB CF card would definitely be nice.. now I can easily transfer data between machines!
Of course, again, though, bandwidth is still an issue..
Playing Devil's Advocate though, 3 years ago, broadband isn't as popular as it is now.. it used to take 20 minutes for me to download a song (err.. if I were to download a song..), and many longer for an album (obviously), but nowadays, with speed blazing, it takes maybe 20-30 minutes to download the entire album!
One thing you got to remember is that the blank CD's we pay for, some of that money goes back to the companies that make music anyhow.. same goes for DVD's..
When something goes wrong, it's always someone else's fault..
Really though, piracy CD's... I'm sure some people hunt for them, but in most cases, the fans (the people who would buy real CD's anyhow) would not buy them.. so it just leaves the middle ground where there isn't much money anyhow.. (maybe I'm wrong..)
The problem is that they rarely upgrade their structures to support more users after they sign on - and everyone has a year or two contracts, so they have to stay for that duration.
Luckily, it's changed nowadays, competition does that, I guess, and it's better, now that we can keep our cellphone numbers!
Offtopic, but one game along those lines that girls really like was Mario Tennis.. I can't imagine one day, I was playing at my dorm with my doors open and a hot chick came in and played Tennis with me.. I'm serious! Too bad I was an idiot and actually kicked her ass.. should've let her win..
But ya, another good one is Mario Party.. just seems like girls like these party games for many many people..
I have one question though, while obviously, you can get a mapping of definitions, can you actually translate a full sentence into another full sentence?
With exceptions in tons of languages, is this even feasible in the near future? Sure, we can understand a poorly translated sentence, but can it translate it so that we don't have to?
Though it's true that all/most countries are driven by money, what I meant was that it's driven mostly solely by money, the way so many things are set up.
Where in some other countries, they actually have health care and other benefits, when they actually give the citizens a thought rather than an afterthought..
This would be really detrimental to the experience of the game, where much of the fun comes from seeing cool new things whenever.. hopefully they'll change that..
800,000 _is_ a small number.. GC wants to sell 6 million GC's.. which is nothing, since Sony already sold 30 million PS2s..
Err.. I forgot to add, that was when I was a kid =P (for the person that mod it up funny)
I agree.

Do we really know how it'll end? Isn't there still a debate rather it'll end in fire or ice? (Implosion or entropy death)

So that has definite contributions..

Mario Teaches Typing taught me typing! And Donkey Kong Math was fun too!

Content will always beat flash and show.. (unless you're talking about Squaresoft and FF.. they still sell their millions of copies..)
Sure, fair use is fair use, but have you read the article about how he's using it? It really is anything but, as much as we hate RIAA...
If this actually holds up in court. An amusing thought experiment though..
Fair use isn't actually fair.. I don't think RIAA, with all its money and lawyers will let this slip through..
Though of course, I hope it does..
Anything made by Blizzard is constantly patched.. they still release updates/patches to Starcraft!
At least you'll learn for next time.. I once coded something that was really sensitive.. and a mistake wiped it all out...
Though the odds are definitely against them, it seems like a good enough argument (legally) that has a decent chance of winning...
Of course, it always helps to have someone with money to throw around..

The bad thing was that it wasn't even CG! Half of it was polygon dialogues..
I bet you I'm not the only one that wanted to destroy that TV during that part where Tidus and Yuna were laughing so hard.. so fake..
CG's weren't that bad.. but ya, it's getting to the point where it's barely a game, and mostly a "you can only do this so you can watch a movie"...
Reminds me of those early Sega-CD games..
The glass isn't always half empty, and perhaps for others, it's half full..
Doesn't seem so bad, if it weren't for the price, I'll snatch one myself!

Americans don't fear change per se... they fear changes to their bottomline.. that's what happens when a country is driven on money..
This would be really detrimental to the experience of the game, where much of the fun comes from seeing cool new things whenever.. hopefully they'll change that..
Sure, to slashdotters, we all know what it means, but how would you explain the Open Source movement to someone that isn't so technically inclined?
What would you tell them that would, say, change from Linux to Windows?
