I have experienced first hand internet access policies based on time of the day. When i was working at a CMM Level 5 company, we were not allowed to surf during office hours ( 9 AM to 6 PM ) and the proxy itself was open between 7 AM to 7 PM weekdays.
And you expect people in poor countries to buy HP products ?
From the country I come from, there is atleast a difference of approximately 100 US Dollar equivalent between a locally built and supported PC and a HP/Compaq machine.

This is great, I was trying to get 2.6 up and running since atleast a month now without any success on my gentoo install ( IANAGZ - not a gentoo zealot - have redhat 8 too installed for Oracle ).
Thrice I was able to compile to compile the kernel - twice died on uncompressing kernel and the third time was unstable with no sound. Guess that explains my n00b status.
If kernel developers (KD) want the general public to test a new kernel - they really should put out some real documentation of how to compile/build the kernel on some popular distro like redhat - Well I guess the KD response would be - No kernel for you.!!
I won't be surprised if you were hit with the blaster bug last week.
At my place of work, a boot everyday is expected so that the IT Minesweeper Consultants and Solitaire Experts written boot scripts drop in the updates.

I have practically seen that Microsoft arm twisting results in anti-microsoft sentiments.
Just to quote an example: When Microsoft was serious about Office licenses in a certain CMM Level 5 company - The company actually tried to move towards OpenOffice. Complete MS Office install on my workstation was sacrificed to open office.
Booted automagically, prayed while rebooting that non of my apps break.
I think the Shavlik Remote management is great.

Looks pretty slick. But the window movement is bit shaky and the screen jitters sometimes.
