yeah unfortunately it is always the progressive free-thinking dare-I-say liberally minded sort that immediately resort to personal insults and ad homiems to win an argument.
Also back through history it is always the progressive free-thinking dare-I-say liberally minded sort that wont ever believe any bad shit is even capable of happening until its already badly fucking us.
Good luck with your progressive free-thinking dare-I-say liberally minded philosophy, which actually turns out to mean more backwards, oppressive and dare I say it pee cee monoculture than most any alternatives.
I don't think thats even close to true, however I understand that it's a common misconception partly because the nature of the war we are in, and partly because the governments not only haven't officially declared war, none of them want to admit to the depth and scale of what is actually going on.
All the evidence points to the fact that all the westernised countries (US, EU, Australia, Russia, China, even Africa) are actually conducting an all-out but undercover war against a very real threat of an overwhelming number of radicalised muslims that wish to literally turn the planet into their interpretation of a single muslim state under shariah law.
The irony is that they are supposedly doing it in the name of islam but this is actually a sham too. There is no moral or religious boundary they dont cross, including genocide, torture, brainwashing and a multitude of other horrific human abuses to further their leaders sick lust for power at any cost.
Are you talking about BMWs? BMW's M button is just their version of the sport mode/button in most other cars. No M button or Sport mode in any car I know of will ever lock brakes up.
Quite agree. Its also why Ford and Mustang owners feel the need to resort to this kind of shit to get their new cars noticed. Except they clearly don't understand the "not in a good way" thing.
probably shouldn't have surfed to that URL at work though..... but their site actually comes across as quite rational and reasonable. Not what I was expecting at all.
Wow, this button is a new low both for Ford and for the Mustang. Burnouts are for morons in the first place, but If you can't do one without a button you shouldn't even be behind the wheel.
I believe it was the author H.P. Lovecraft that you're mis-quoting there. I'm not a Satanist but as he was merely an early 1900's horror fiction author, Its a fair guess he did not start, define or even much contribute to the actual belief of Satanists.
I think I'm right in saying that the environment on earth when life started to appear would actually be lethal to most current-day life including humans, i.e. too hot/unbreathable/toxic and too much radioactivity.
>> but for the great majority of users trusting open source is quite similar to trusting a commercial vendor.
Not at all. The point with opensource is you at least have the freedom to look at the code, (whether you choose to invest the time required or not is up to you). Also, chances are if something nefarious is in the code, someone working on the project will spot it and it will be outed.
None of the above is true with commercial closed code, especially from big companies like Microsoft who have already demonstrated a willingness to be unconcerned about doing the right thing by their users, and also to give the government whatever it asks for at the drop of a hat.
When you install an app, Andorid tells you the permissions the app needs and asks you to confirm.
If your'e dumb enough to not question why a flashlight app would need access to GPS and the internet, and you still install the app anyway, then you deserve all you get.
Yeah I like Phoenix too, but there's a large amount of avionics biz around Phoenix. if you enjoy innovative and creative software development with leading edge tech then I strongly advise you don't make the mistake of getting sucked into avionics.
As a Software Engineer in avionics you wont hardly ever be actually designing or writing any code, instead you'll be mostly doing bureaucratic bullshit based around a clueless FAA-mandated requirements-driven waterfall-based process which is also so obviously and completely ineffective at its intended purpose of ensuring quality, it quickly destroys your will to live.
Once in, avionics is also a hard industry to leave, because all your tech knowledege and skills relevant to the real world will have turned to mush through disuse/misuse.
In this case it would be easy. Microsoft could just open up ALL their source code to the EFF instead of only allowing the government to see it. They must already realise that asking the gov to check for backdoors is like asking the fox to guard the hen house. The government are probably interested in the code but just to confirm that their backdoors are actually still in place, and to maybe add some more.
>> I don't honestly believe that people would actually compile all their tools from source code they've reviewed personally to check for security holes
We do use some open source in our aviation products. We are required to heavily review literally every line of source code (both ours and open source) in order to get our product certified for aircraft use.
Nobody has ever shown any detailed proof of non-existence of government backdoors in their products. But hey facts really have nothing to do with today's shallow thinking.
Jeez just have some sprung conductors in the floor of your garage that come up and touch corresponding contact points on the underside of the car whenever you park. For safety, Include some trivial electronics to only power the conductors after a data handshake happens with the car. This both ensures the car is in contact properly and that its not say, your kids bike.
Why not just run it under a VM?
but nothing my employer does interests me in any way , so I spend my time learning about things I am interested in, not what would benefit them.

dunno about 1440p60 being full glory.
IMHO 1920x1080p @ 120hz is my starter spec these days.
Exactly what I was thinking too

In my opinion it does. Also if you're doing donuts properly you're not even touching the brakes.

I think you're confusing bugs and backdoors explicitly put in place.

The fact you know about those vulnerabilities in the first place exactly makes my point for me.

You should move here to Phoenix, AZ. Blue skies maybe 340 days of the year.
Before Global Warming/Climate Change...
F'ing hot but everywhere has good AC, cold beer and most houses have swimming pools.
Now/After Global Warming
F'ing hot but everywhere has good AC, cold beer and most houses have swimming pools.
Don't forget the Birkenstocks.
I wouldn't consider any agent professional or even trustworthy enough to get my business if they wrote to me using grammar like that.
