  1. Its funny on Microsoft Applies To Patent DRM'ed OS Modules · · Score: 1

Microsoft to add modular drivers to windows.
Its funny how every day microsoft are stealing more and more old ideas from Gnu/Linux and Unix in general, and claiming they are innovating.
I hope they'll get rid of the registry next.

Thank god for uibquitous LCD panels, because the problem was especially bad when sat infront of a CRT because its frame refresh(often at a higher frequency) causes the visual equivalent of harmonics which for me lead to frequent migraine.

  8. Re:What about games and DirectX 10? on Windows Vista Launches To Mixed Reactions · · Score: 1

For DirectX 10 you need compatable hardware, the nVidia 8x00 series is the only currently availble DX10 GPUs.

Games performance generally under vista is significantly slower than XP. Vista will also make it less likely that you could re-use any older cpu or memory you currently have and still have a fast machine.

There aren't any DX10 games out yet (but there will be soon). Most if not all will still work on DX9. Unless you really have a burning desire to trade overall performance, freedom from DRM, and saving lots of money just for small extra DX10 twinkles, I'd stay with XP.
