  1. Dingoo on Gamepark Releases the GP2X Wiz · · Score: 2, Interesting

Im not sure the wiz is going to be as successful as their previous attempts. They are getting very strong competition from a bunch of chinese manufacturers releasing units all based off of ingenic processors. They all have comparable speed and specs to a wiz, with a few less features, but they are all half the price and already come with fully functioning emulators. The big one out now is the A320 dingoo. Theres a growing dev group behind it that have almost completed porting linux to it, but the unit already comes with emulators so its already fully functional out of the box. All this for 80$, half the price of the wiz.

I would think that an engineering degree learned entirely online would be completely inferior to one that actually had in person training. The majority of an engineering degree is theory, and without the labs to go along with it and hammer home what you learned, most probably would not understand what they are trying to teach. Also just learning the concepts is not enough. Many of the projects worked on in a university are group projects, so you learn alot more than just the subject matter but also how to work in teams on techincal projects. Also with computer engineering I believe it would be very hard to do any sort of senior level design projects. It would be hard to somehow gather all of the necessary parts, code everything and solder everything, get your pcb's made, debug, and all the other minutia that come along with a larger scale design project. This is impossible without a team, or an entire year of work. I know if I was looking to hire an engineer and had the choice of one who only learned everything online and one who had actually done real world projects, there would be absolutely no contest.

This may work for some degrees, but not the majority of engineering degrees. You really need the hands on training to understand the theory you learn in most of your classes. Doing this on your own is very hard mainly because the average person would not have access to all the resources. I.E. for computer engineering having access to the multi-thousand dollar programs to do chip synthesis, vhdl design, and fpga testing. Having access to logic analyzers and all the previous knowledge of professors and grad students is something you cant get just by reading off of the internet. I believe this would also apply to most other engineering such as chemical, mechanical, materials etc.

To go along with the previous posts. I was shopping a year ago for a laptop, and got a Dell that had the exact same specs as the current top of the line MBP but the dell had better graphics and a larger hdd, all for half the price of the MBP. Apple never offers discounts while all the other manufacturers do. These comparisons are horrible because they assume the shopper is a retard and wont be willing to wait a few weeks for a 200-800$ off coupon to pop up.

Any language they chose and layout etc. Documentation for the game was produced, QA was done, development cycles etc. It seemed a pretty good layout to me, the professor kept it very loosely defined as to what he wanted in terms of results, which angered some students were used to the rigorous structure of producing specific results for a grade, but I think it worked out for the best.

Yea, i have had it for a little over a month now and am still very happy with it. The tw-600 version, which is the japanese version of the 800, is actually the exact same except it includes a D4 connector, which can be converted to component, and its 2000 USD less than the 800, pretty much why i went with it. I have seen recently that epson finally wised up to their wierd international pricing schemes and have lowered the price on the 800 so now it is pretty much the same cost, it includes an extra bulb and a mount. Factoring those in it costs pretty much the same. With this projector I run it pretty much in low lamp mode all the time as it is almost even bright enough then for day time viewing. That's supposed to give me 3000 hours, but those stated hours are half lifes, so you can actually take bulbs on all projectors a lot longer than those recommended hours. I have seen many people saying they have taken them to 5 or 6000 hours and it is still perfectly watchable.

There are alot of others out there tho like the panasonic 900, due to be replaced real soon, and the sanyo z4, also being replaced soon. Id recommend just checking out projectorcentral.com and its related forums for info.
