I use a bluetooth headset with my powerbook all the time when I am using Skype. Mac OS X connects to the headset without an issue and the quality is excellent.
Last summer, I started developing pain in my wrist due to what I guessed was RSI. I took advice from my friend and visited a chiropractor. Believe me, it helped a lot. I had to visit him once a week over three months, but the sessions were short and cheap (around $10, insurance took care of the rest). After that I ensure that my wrist is elevated while typing and using the mouse. This seems to work for me.
Hmm. I don't think I agree with you. When I first moved to school, I was given a 300 MHz PIII. I formatted the hard drive, put Windows XP Pro on it, and was able to run Visual Studio.NET on it without any issues. I work with video and I agree it was not the fastest setup out there, but it did the job. My guess is all you need to do is clean up the system and keep your applications at the absolute minimum. Get rid of all that fancy UI. No one needs that. Well that's my 2 cents
If any of you did look at the WWDC keynote by Steve Jobs, I am sure you guys would have realized by now that this entire discussion is unnecesssary. Come on, the next version of OS X (Tiger) that releases NEXT YEAR has features that Bill Gates still plans to implement in his version of Longhorn. I was astounded to hear that the OS X API would support calls that would process stuff directly on the GPU. Searchlight will deliver what everyone has been waiting for. Even today, almost a year after Panther was released, when I show a Windows user Expose', they are amazed to see such innovation. Microsoft is a company that heralded COM and DCOM as the best thing that happened to mankind since computing was developed. But today with.NET, MS says that COM is for losers. How long will be be before they do the same with.NET? I agree change is the only constant, but come on this is taking it a bit too far.

I totally agree. I recently purchased a couple of computers with xp pro preinstalled. Now I wanted a clean install of xp without all that junk. but nopes, that's not possible. I DO NOT want real, aol, and all that crap on my pc. Please give me the opportunity to install the way I want to.
My friend purchased a sony vaio preinstalled with xp home (ugh). He upgraded to pro. However he coulnt get drivers for the hot keys since sony says that they have tested those drivers only with home and u are supposed to install only home on it. What a piece of crap
Ok I am gonna speak as developer who worked for a while in India and came out here for his Masters. Well believe it or not, my salary back in India was a paltry 13,500 Rupees a month. A night in the town and boom you spend 2000 Rupees. People are underpaid and overworked. I hear the situation is much better now. Again it depends on who you work for and what kind of experience you have, but I would say it is as tough to live there as it is to live here. Maybe there are others with different opinions, but this is what I have to say
Yeah I have used the QuickTime API. A bloody pain in the ass - thats what it is. I once made a MPEG-4 decoder plugin for Windows using QuickTime. Damn the problems with the resource files and all the assorted crap. Somehow hated it.
I agree with you. Quicktime has the worst interface I have ever seen. And then even the bloody plugin puts up an icon on the taskbar that refuses to disappear. Real the lesser said the better. A million ads , more pop-ups, reminders to update. One of the reasons I dont listen to music in the.rm format is because I do not want to install the real player. I know you guys need ads to support yourself but this is carrying it way too far.
Do you work for Microsoft? You seem to share their opinion, RSS in everything ;-).
