.. from our children, and their children, and their children's children.. And this little legacy is just to teach them not to put their parents in crappy nursing homes in future.
I, for one, would prefer more robotics and AI, and less "people in space" for the time being.
And I, for one, would prefer to see more the money spent - or some of it at least - on deep sea exploration. Perhaps we could compromise and have the depths probed by giant robot squid?
Bill Gates revealed his awesome new creation... the Death Star. "It's capable of destroying entire continents, as we'll soon demonstrate." he was quoted as saying.
To which the European Comissioner replied.. 'Puny Gates! You and your 'death star' shall soon face the wrath of EUnicron.'
Given how fast bogus rumours such as the teddy bear virus move around the internet, and how hard they are to kill, the internet represents and easy way to anonymously disseminiate dis-information about a candidate. Imagine the same crowd who thump forward buttons without reading the message sending a bogus picture of a presidential candidate in a photoshopped picture. Oh, wait, that really happened..
How can we justify space exploration when we've yet to plumb the depths of the oceans. There's plenty of sub-aquatic territory to be exploited, sorry, explored. What with all those giant squid there must be enough calamari to feed the entire third world.
I've lost the URL unfortunately but one site had a project of sorts where someone had signed up for a card and then scanned the numbers/barcode in. People then printed the barcode out, taped it over their clubcard and made purchases all over the UK on one card, making it quite a puzzle for Tesco. Alas, that wouldn't work with RFID, but I'd imagine actually posting RFID tags from one end of the country to the other could provide some amusment/ store confusion.
.. to the rumours that the X-Box 2 will not have a HD? If MS are really aiming to make their latest dev cross-platform, the X-Box 2 would need to have a hard disk in order to be comparable to the PC.
.. has no-one behind this idea seen the movie 'Pulse'? Cue a rogue AI hooked up to the power grid, housewives boiling in the shower and garage doors going rogue.
How dare such a potentially privacy infringing combination be developed? I find it sickening that this could allow someone else to go through my emails about generic viagra.
Or whatever investigative reports the US has - because clearly standards are slipping. Not with the investigators, but with the scamsters. It used to be you could tune into Roger Cook's Cook Report or Watchdog (UK shows, folks) and the scamster could be watched, on camera, doing a runner, slamming a door in someone's face, while the interviewer tried to get answers out of them. This 'video interview'.. it's just.. unnatural.
The results I am seeing so far indicate that while they can do the work, as instructed, they are incapable of being creative, or adaptive, when confronted.
Yes, but they combine to form Devastator, the most powerful Ind.. er.. Decept.. oh, wait, wrong train of thought.
That is such an interesting observation. Where can I g o to learn how to make such astute observations and put them into such eloquent and flowing terms?
I hear India has some fine universities that might be able to assist you.
.. it's a sad state of affairs when a developer outside of Microsoft actually ends up doing something that MS should have done themselves. So they can say 'screw it' to standards and someone else does the finger-work.
In Fallout, the only time I managed to stay really evil in a game was when a child got caught in the crossfire while I was killing slavers. Once I got labled a childkiller, there really wasn't much of a choice. Even most of the bad guys would try to kill me because I was TOO evil.
I've only ever actually felt uncomfortable being evil in one game - in Star Wars: KOTR when I forced a woman to give me the hunting artifact from her dead husband she was hoping to sell to get her and her kids off planet. I felt so guilty, in fact, I loaded an earlier save and sold the plate for her, and gave her the money. Strangely, none of the other bad acts in the game made me feel like that.
Morrowind is like a game of D&D with a really inexperienced DM who stayed up all night for months writing his first module
Most of all because the plot isn't exactly engaging. I recently picked up the GOTY edition and was somewhat disappointed. Knights of the Old Republic has less freedom, but I get sucked into the game more because the plot and characters are more interesting. Morrowind's story is just dry sub-Tolkien stuff.

'Do you have Buckyballs?' 'No, it's just the way I walk.'

God Bless internet voting. It gave us the best President the USA has ever seen, President Hairy Ass McGee.

No? How about Michael Ironside then? Now, a V - 20 years later series - that's what I'd like to see.
So why does that extra planet have horns, and is eating Pluto?

'Professor Windle and his Nano-Spindle' - I can see the merchandising possibilities stretch for miles..
.. the one that apparently was so tight it nearly choked Jeri Ryan on set. The Nanotubes, cap'n.. they cannae hold!
