It doesn't matter if a person confuses enthusiasm with anger, what matters is would the system. I expect that it would, especially with the tone that he used. Yes it was enthusiasm and it has been taken out of context, but would a machine read it as anger. I would wager yes.

Do you honestly think that switching to Digital Money is going to stop counterfeiters? All it would do is change the type of people doing the counterfeiting. Suddenly it would be hackers instead of printers. I for one don't like the idea of my money being digital. I just don't trust the technology yet.

  5. Satallite on Cable TV Versus Satellite TV? · · Score: 1

I have had Dish Network satellite service for about four years now. In that time I have lost my signal a total of 5 times that I can remember, and I'm sure a few that I cannot or was not home for. Each of those times there were very heavy storms and tornados reported in the area. My friends with Cable seem to have their cable out far more often then my satellite goes down, and when I lose the signal I don't have to wait for them to fix it, just for the storm to pass by. I also pay much less per month than my friends do. The cable quality and price are probably area dependent. As for DVRs, I have not had any direct experience with using them on Satellite so I cannot really say anything on the matter. For me it was not a matter of choosing between the two because I cannot get cable at my house, but based on what I have seen I would choose Satellite over cable. Oh, and I do get NASA TV.

You get the same compatibility blaah-blaah for Windows 2000 with a Service Pack.

Absolutely no reason to use a FUBAR operating system just for that. Stick to w2k.

XP is not "FUBAR" unless of course you are refering the the home edition. Yes you can get compatibilty mode on 2000 if you install Service Pack 3(not sure about 4), but I refuse to install Service Pack 3 because I don't care for the licensing agreement with it(same reason the company I work for has refused to install it.) Also has a previous post mentioned it does not work as well on 2000 as it does on XP. If I had to guess I would say that it has to do with it being slapped on as apposed to being built in, but I am not a programer. XP has it's quirks, and takes much longer to adjust all the settings, but once it is running I have few complaints about it. It's no Slackware, and it took me a long time to come around to not hating it, but it is a good OS.

So clearly they are becoming more and more worried by the competition, although interestingly their advertising is all aimed at the server market, they are not yet mentioning Linux on the desktop. Is this to do with just where its been hurting them so far or is this indicative that they are not worried by Linux on the desktop just yet?

Or maybe they feel that Red Hats decision to focus Exclusively on Servers has already won that fight for them.

Um, did you actually read his post? He very clearly mentions two chemical weapon attacks. Iraq clearly at one point had weapons of mass destruction. As far as I'm concerned until they lost the Gulf War that was thier right.

The original poster was not suggesting that Iraq was a happy playground of bliss. He was suggesting that the "weapons of mass destruction" claim was inaccurate or fraudulent. Which is correct.

That is not correct, that is an opinion. To be taken as correct it would have to be proven.

We do not sysprep our images before dumping them to the ghost server and we have never had a problem with SIDs. "...trade copyrighted material" no its not. I can freely trade you my copy of "The Hobbit", for your copy of "Jaws". You can even resell your copy! as a mattter of fact, there is probably a place where you can get copyrighted material for free! its called the Library. The difference is when you trade your copy of "The Hobbit" you don't still have "The Hobbit". If someone downloads a song from your computer you do still have the original copy of that song. That clearly is not trading. It is distributing. Secondly yes you can get copyrighted materials from the Library, and when they are due back you return them. There was a time when most people downloading still bought cds, but too many people are downloading and not buying anymore. If you want to download your music or movie, go ahead I don't care. I'm right in line there doing it myself. Just don't try to fool yourself into thinking that it is legal or moral. Like it or not the music is owned by the RIAA and they don't care if you think they are bloodthirsty. They are simply companies trying to due what they were formed to do. That is make money. You can call it wrong all you want, but that is our system.

You people don't seem to understand that companies don't have to act in the publics best interest. Thier reason for existence is to make money. You can yell and scream about how wrong that is all you want, but that is the way our system works. If you don't like the music out there then don't buy it, but that doesn't give you the right to steal it. Yes I said steal that is exactly what you are doing everytime you are downloading a song or movie.

I'm sick of all the garbage I keep hearing about downloading songs not being illegal or wrong. You all want the music and movies and you don't want to pay for them so you feel the need to justify what you are doing.

Before you all get pissed off and label me a RIAA loving whatever, I download music. I've done my share of movie and music downloading, but I am not misguided or delusional enough to think that it is legal or even ok.
