For years we've been hearing about breakthough in cancer therapies once every month or so. Now put yourself in shoes of someone who's struggling with cancer for life... Hope.
Go find some interview with a journalist who had been or still is fighting with this illness. They all say they've become more cautions when choosing such news for headlines in their newspapers or tv news.

It depends on what antibodies you're talking about. Yes, IgG indicate previous exposure to toxoplasma while IgM indicate ACTIVE infection.
> pregnant wife/girlfriend/mom to stay away from cats
This is a myth. At least partially. Yes, it's wise to stay away from cats (and especially from cats' litter) during pregnancy. But most infections with toxoplasmosis gondii come from RAW MEAT. The toxoplasma cysts in cat litter become infectious only after days so if you clean after your cat regularly, you're on the safe side. Throwing your cat away, apart from being cruel, is dangerous because it makes you feel safe while some attention must be given to handling raw meat.
(BTW, I hate cats:-D)
I've been taught (BTW during my Electronics lectures) that equations longer than 6 cm are completely useless.
Please keep this in mind during YOUR Electronics lectures.:-)
