    Civil cases are very personal. The lawyer is saying whatever will get him his cut. Just because its a job doesn't mean you do whatever it takes. It is about twisted moratlity. I know in engineering you have a code of ethics, but I'm not sure about lawyers. If their code of ethics is to argue whatever side your on today, it's not a moral code of ethics.

    Also, since IANAL, I wonder if the other side would be able to use the lawyers previous statements in the next case.

    If you're going to use the wayback as an archive you can sue someone for using it. It's like suing someone for reading an old phone book to get your number and address that you've since made unlisted. (Although that might be stalking) Or going the library to look up an old magazine where you get an article that embarasses someone.

    BTW, your bit isn't that funny.

    A few weeks ago /. had a bit on an Internet Archive that got sued for having material that was ordered withdrawn by a court. How can they have things both ways? I think I'm begining to understand why law school is so hard, you have to learn to think like a lawyer, which is like learning to type with your nose.

    If I remember correctly Stargate (or am I thinking Starbridge) computers run a variable system architecture, which means they can run whatever they $#%^ well please. FPGA'S ROCK!!!

    I don't get it? Is the gag the the don mills centre is nowehere in the scope? Might work better if you use center rather than centre, pulls up a don mills center at the intersection of Lawrence ave and Don mills road.

    Having never been to Toronto I don't know if this is the right location, but if google has it as center then they'll get mussed if you use centre.

    Since there is no clear cut economic center to the muslim world Mecca makes a similar target to what they target. But your right, it's full of travelers for one month out of the year. Unlike New York or London which have huge numbers of travelers at all times.

    Perhaps what we need is to encourage muslim economic interest into a few large cities and randomly bomb them, blame it on christian fundamentalist that don't really reflect the general concensus.

    Maybe someday they'll find evidence of a planet that actually might resemble earth in some way. Other than the fact that it's made of rock and orbits a star, theres not really much we can do with it.

    If we'd spend less gazing at stars (at least in the optical range) and more to actually develope an inexpensive space route the public might show more intrest in space. LONG CHAIN THE NANO-TUBES

    I don't know if they then pay special attention cuz we think we can bypass their filters, or completly ignore us cuz 99.9999998% of /.'ers are more likely to blow a brown trouser note than to blow up something.

    TANSTAFL. This post seems drawn into the spinning power meter dials and not caring about what the computer is. If you want a lot of power, you need a lot of power. Chip scale efficiency could reduce their bill, but its a research foundation crunching numbers all day. If they need more money they just ask their contributors politly.
    How's this stack up with google's server farm bill.

    Excellent reply, I needed an informed person to make statements counter to my thoughts. Perhaps this weekend I'll migrate to one of the non-M$ web browsers. I'd like to bypass IE's propensity to spawn a bunch of windows.

    That is, of course, dependant on how well I do at the casinos. I may not be upright.

    Okay, I'll admitt that I use IE. And I know it's full of bugs and glitches. Most of which I never see.

    Since the tabs have been a function used in other web browsers for some time, the new mass deployment will give new reason to abuse users tabs by hijack-sites, hackers, and other undesirables. I know they say there are no commands to control tabs, but that doesn't mean they aren't tamper proof.

    In esscence, will IE's incorporation of common features lead to bugs (or flaws) being found in other browsers.

    I remember going thru stacks of 70's era popular science's (or maybe popular mechanics) and coming across schemes by boeing and/or lockhead to build super deep thermal difference engines, using the temperature difference to vaporize and condense ammonia while pushing the ammonia thru gas turbines. Sounds like this guy has figured out a way to do so from the comfort of an island.

    Also, being able to cheaply cool spaces in tropical climates can't hurt.

    Actually, now they have the contacts for millions of fake adresses from slashdot users, and the spammers aren't buying their mail list anymore. Now, with a $50 + tax (oh yeah, just wait and see)subscription they can sell you personal information for a much higher price.

    I see a natural benefit to building flying webservers. When the /. effect kicks in, you accellerate to increase the cooling, and if nessicary, you take the flock out of populated areas to burst into flames.
    Probably work better in england, here in my part of Texas the red tailed hawks would probably take 'em down.
