This should not be a surprise, since Putin said 2 years ago:
Russian President Vladimir Putin told the nation Monday that the collapse of the Soviet empire "was the greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the century"
from a msn.com article.
>Sun has (in my paranoid opinion) agreed to kill Java
>I'm quite curious to see how IBM will react.
I don't think IBM will much care. They have pushed for Sun to open source Java, why? Because they have changes/enhancements they want to incorporate into Java. This means they have already rewritten some/all of the Java libraries and would do more if it was open.
If Sun killed Java, IBM would probably just release their own Java. Legaly something new, but technically the same.
Sounds like you want to admin networks, not be a programmer, so while I agree that a degree will help a lot, I suggest looking for one that has a networking track/specialization.
There aren't many (that I know of) of these around, though.
The school I attend, Utah Valley State College, just happens to offer one.
The focus is on networking theory, server admin, that kinda stuff, and less on programming. (i don't suggest coming here. we are just down the road from SCO and evil may rub off on you)
The CS program got abet accreddited in the fall of '02 and at that time, it was the only accredited program to have a networking specialization. So look around, you may find the CS degree equivalent of all the certs you have/want.
>>feel that the stores were justified in 'violating' their privacy agreement?
Doesn't that depend on what the privacy agreement states?? And anyway, whats the point in asking for (or giving) contact info if you never indent on contacting?? Wouldn't providing someone with your contact info imply they have your permission to contact you? I don't see what the big deal is.

Won't this also kill the rental market?
Has Netflix/Blockbuster said anything about this?
Good thing our Constitution prohibits ex post facto laws.
Not that the Constitution is really being followed anyway
Good Idea. I'll send a letter now. Oh, wait, I live in Utah, what do I do???!!!!!

>>SCO is definetely not acting in the best interests of its shareholders.
Sure it is.
They can now sell their stock at a 52 week high and at 10x the value the stock was just a few months ago.
Wait, you mean people are actually BUYING SCO stock? What morons.
