    If I have visited New York, I should be able to teleport there or get their quicker than a 8 hour flight with out a stop in Atlanta first.

    Oh, please. give it up on Bartle already. Bartle thinks that for some "magically" reason you "need" 4 players types. Hearts, Clubs, Diamonds, Spades. Ultima Online, showed that you don't need the Clubs (PvP) _at all_ when Trammel got introduced and the population in mass moved from Felucca. I lost many friends who quit UO for good because of some immature player griefing others.

    Everyone went to Trammel to level but plenty of them came back to Felucca as 7X GM's.

    In all fairness, racism is a human condition prevalent in many cultures. I remember a Swedish gentleman suggesting that Swedes have never been racist. So I pointed him to a history book, and the term serf from the fact that they took slaves from other lands they conquered.

    Soooo....the white slave market is being run by self hating caucasians?
    I didn't know slavery had anything to do with race.

    Because we all know from Douglas Adams that it takes so long to learn how to perform time travel you need time travel in order to do so. I don't recall what we're supposed to do instead, so just write 42 on everything and we'll be okay until we run out of towels.

    You could always create an alternate universe where time travel is already invented.

    Which games do use Sixaxis for anything useful? By far most seem to completly ignore it, a tiny few are all motion controls (Rub a Dub, Flower) and another few do make very light use of it (MetalGear4). But overall I haven't seen a single game that uses motion controls for something that couldn't be done with an analag stick just as well. For me SIXAXIS looks like a solution waiting for a problem, but then I haven't seen all PS3 games so I might be missing something.

    Lair uses it quite a bit as well as every racing game I've played on the PS3.
    Would like to see more use for it besides turing the controller into a stearing wheel.

    The irony in this whole casual vs hardcore debate is that the casual gamers think the hardcore gamers are just as stupid and unimportant and the hardcore gamers think the casual ones.

    "Teach it [calculus] at that level and leave us web developers alone." There was no web when I graduated, had to learn it "on the job". I have never heard of anyone learning calculus "on the job" but it would explain why buildings and bridges sometimes fall down.

    It would also explain the many poor quality websites out there.

    Their A's in class will not help them in an actual research position.

    So, for the vast majority of students that aren't going into research, it matters not a whit, then. As for the few that are pursuing research positions, well, they're likely self motivated enough to have learned the material properly anyway.

    People who are going into research are likely to persue a masters anyway. Teach it at that level and leave us web developers alone.

    Well, did you mean a new franchise or innovative gameplay?

    Galaxy had the second IMHO.

    If you're looking for new franchises, then maybe you're right, but as a gamer I would argue that originality in gameplay is more valuable than new characters.

    It doesn't even have that. Galaxy is simply the logical evolution of Mario 64. It makes no radical leaps in original game play.

    What did you say? "I don't like your products so I'm not your customer base anyway." or "I'm an avid user of your products who will probably pay you anyway." Because that's how they're going to see it. I'm not saying you shouldn't voice your displeasure, just wondering how you framed it. This is a "win-win" for them. They get to charge more for the same works AND promote anti-net-neutrality which would eventually help them curb those pesky fair use works, parody works, and, of course, infringed copies.

    No you say I'd really like to become a paid subscriber to your website but my ISP can't afford to pay you the extortion money.
