Depends on if you define "more geeky" as a good thing or a bad thing. The chart implies who looks down upon whom, note the direction the arrows point, both ways. Pokemon fans over the age of six still feel superior to furries and furries likewise feel superior to them.
Complete misuse of the word geek.
Also it leaves out civil war recrationists
They should be just above the furries.

I feal superior to both so I'm getting a kick out of your reply.
Every ethical argument has some unjustifiable assumptions at its base.
"We should maximize the sum of human happiness over time." But why?
"Do unto others as you'd have them do to you." But why?
"Let everyone do their own thing so long as it doesn't impinge on your own happiness." But why?
"Respect the sanctity of human life, from conception through to death." But why?
"Don't punish the innocent." But why?
"All men are created equal." Really? Why do you think that? ('self-evidence' isn't a very solid ground in an argument.)
Utilitarianism and humanism are just as arbitrary as disliking human cloning. Worse, actually, since they so often fool their adherents into thinking that the basis of their morality is rationality.
Why?
Because God said so.
I think you just stumbled apon the reason why religion works.
Speak of Pandora's box, replacing the animal DNA with human DNA in an animal cell is pretty much like taking out a big chunk of code out of your text editor in binary form, replace them with another chunk of code from your image editing software, without any understanding of what exactly is the processor doing, and hope the end result will actually execute and lets you edit images. TFA indicated that the right genes are getting turned off. What we really should worry about is what genes are getting turned on since our DNA is littered with inactive segments of virus RNAs. We may stumble on something that we don't know how to deal with.
Yeah, I used to work in a juvenile detention facility where I had to deal with the fallout from a lot of irresponsible crackheads who had decided 11-16 years earlier that their babies had too much potential to abort.
Yeah better to mow them down before they're old enough to fight back.....[/sarcasm]
Linux also has a PR problem. The average person (if they have heard of Linux at all, and most haven't) tend to think of it as something for anti-social geeks who will be mean to them if they ask for help.
Only idotic noobs believe that and they should be shunned.
Do you find the idea of creating a "gui interface using visual basic" to see about tracking an ip address as more fit for a sitcom rather than crime drama?
In case you were wondering, that happened in CSI NY recently. Truly cringe-worthy.
Buahahahahha.....oh wait you were serious let me laugh even harder.
I'm reminded, completely coincidentally of course, of something I've been meaning to ask for a while now... Can someone explain to me the difference between 'Troll' and 'Flamebait'?
It's the same diffrence as funny and insightful but only applies to people you disagree with.
Found some information about it. I recalled only seeing one brand with any Shotgun mentions on their boxes, but couldn't remember until I read the information I linked to. It was Diamond Multimedia, and no ISP in my area (out of about 4 or so) supported it, so none of them ever stayed out of the store for long (people would buy them, then within hours return them).
Voyager.net supported it once in it's short run as a ISP. I had the pleasure of taking that call.
The tragic optimist in me wants to say that Obama doesn't want to open that particular can of worms until he and his staff have had a chance to really examine what's involved.

Video gamers are more geeky then Trekkies?

Hierarchy of geekdom. Published scifi authors at the top, furries at the bottom, erotic furries below that.

Anime fans who insist on subtitles are less geeky than people who use the word japanimation?????
I think not.
With geekiness comes wisdom.....
or at least we use correct terms.
There goes the live-action Thundercat movie!
Nope that's still going to happen.
I gurantee it.

What ethical concerns? If you're just creating cells, like these folks were, there are no ethical concerns. They're just cells.
So are you.
We are all just a big collection of cells.

Nukes...orbit...only way to be sure...yada yada.

It is the best tasting diet pop I've found but I can't really risk drinking it anymore.
Wuss
What the pirate does that mean? Man, that pirating pirate is pirated up!
Verbing pirates language.
...Cap'n Crunch responded by saying "tweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet", and subsequently found out that, yes, the fridge on the ISS is in fact running.
But do they have prince albert in a can?

neither as bad as the Karate Kid remake that is apparently going to happen. Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith.... ugh.
Hey lets not even joke about that. You are joking.......they would never green light .....this can't possibly be good.
I googled my name and found 3 obituaries.
Your not dead until Netcraft confirms it.
I would dispute
1) Not eating poison.
As that is a recent entry into their list of survival and propagation concerns. Then I would replace it with
1) Obsession with sex
Now the list looks a lot closer to what the human brain is concerned with.
Soooo we just need a drug that lowers sex drive......marketing is going to have a tought time selling that idea to the public.
They managed to put a dude on the moon in 8 years.
And thanks to Bush we will soon have a moon base...right?
So when I say Limits To Growth is "bullshit" I'm clearly being inaccurate, I should have said "horse shit" :)
I would have said goose poop but to each his own.
I bet you also forgot that Smithers was black.
So was Michael Jackson at some point, no one cares.
why was this modded informative?
No idea. I thought I was stating the obvious.
Most of time the ignorance is easy to look past and you can just enjoy the movie. I never really had a problem with it in most cases.
Two Notable Exceptions:
Wild Wild West - Will Smith, Kevin Kline
Battle Field Earth - Travolta
Those two movies took so much license with technology it reminded me of SpongeBob Squarepants and Bikini Bottom.
SpongeBob was infinitely better than either of those movies.

I thoguht CSI NY was a sitcom.

broadband's back. Want I should fetch the shotgun?"
Shotgun modems aren't broad band and never were.
