I call BULL on the videogame stuff. I work on vegastrike. We started around 2000 and we had comparable features to a commercial game released around the same time in 2002/2003 for a space sim game.
Agreed if anything smaller game studio's have a better chance these days with online distrbution systems like steam and gametap.
Can we please cut it out with the everybody-interested-in-technology-is-a-fat-slob jokes? And the everybody-interested-in-technology-is-socially-inept-and-has-no-luck-with-the-opposite-gender jokes? Seriously, it's getting old.
The rev command has got to be one of the most useless Unix commands I've ever come across. It's almost as if someone's first c program somehow got taken up as a part of standard Unix! Maybe in the days before sed and awk and perl it had some function in pipes that I can't grok, but nowadays other than making hints for video game websites I can't imagine what it's for.
You and everyone in your neighborhood has a car. You and that hot MILF down the street decide to install CB Radios so that your wife won't see you hooking up with the MILF by looking at your cell phone bill. That goes on for a while and then the MILF wants to set up a threesome with her best friend Jane, so Jane gets a CB, too. Eventually y'all progress to a huge orgy, so everyone in the neighborhood has a CB Radio. Now *THAT'S* the Internet (in more ways than one).

Huh, you'd think I'd be getting some, with all the time I spend on the internet.
Seriously, this analogy makes sense. When a car is cruising on the high way it's able to maintain speed using 4/8 cylinders. Servers could be cycled in a similar fashion. Do you really need 20 web servers running at 3 am on a Sunday?
So it's like putting to much air in a balloon and something bad happens....?
I agree full heartedly. Votes DO count. They DO matter. For crying out loud, vote for SOMEBODY or SOMETHING. Even if it is just a single issue its better than nothing at all (yes, I said it even though that is something that bothers me too). Vote third party or some random candidate that best fits you. If you don't vote, you aren't proving some sort of elitist point or shoving it to the man. You are in the same category as too-dumb-to-vote/care High School drop-out Joe.
I disagree. If Bush's presidencey proved anything it's that there are too many stupid people voteing.
If you don't know the candidates or the issues stay home.
Can't really argue with that, either!
I could argue that....but I don't feel like it.

I don't think exposing them to our culture would have to much of a negative effect - as long as people are well educated.
And there's the problem.... Stupid people will continue to be stupid.
Lies SI Swimsuits coverage is fair and balanced.
Didn't you know? A single dose of cocoaine can completely destroy the Presidential centers of your brain!
That would actually explain alot.
I look forward to driving in front of you in the passing lane.
I said special not fictional.
Tartrazine (Yellow Dye #5) is used in quite a few multivitamens.

Yeah not everybody here is like me.
I'm special!
This is great news! With proper sound card driver support maybe 2009 will finally be the year of the Linux desktop!
Until Creative releases another line of sound cards.
Neither.
Both parties have too much invested in their bias.
tail -1 filename
does the same thing and is much simpler.
No King Arthur probably existed.

Unhackable encryption of course.

If something goes horribley wrong you have a hit reality show.
If she's smart she'll stay out of it in 2012 and focus on 2016 (unless Obama's presidency is truely disasterous).
Soo.....2012 it is.
Take responsibility for your actions and you will become more powerful than any average lawyer. You can't always blame the other guy.
Nope, if you can't blame the other guy you don't have a case.

Why oh why must the online media trot out these "gamers change the world" stories. Gamers are not special.
My mom says I'm special.....*sniff*

Honestly, some people seem to think the world began with episode 1 of star wars.
No, that was the beginning of the end of the world.
Then the Matrix sequels came out and the world actually ended.
Welcome to Earth 2.0

I just wish Ron Paul had pursued a Constitution/Libertarian Party fusion ticket, he would have had a HUGE impact on this election.
It might make me feel slightly guitly for not voteing this year, I wouldn't call that a huge impact.
That was true when you posted, but in the meantime ... that national debt grows like crazy ... he must be eating his "Wheaties" ...
We should stop making pennies then......*rim-shot*.....*crickets*.......so ashamed.
