    It will be interesting, to one day see if removal of a traumatic memory can help with psychological issues that may stem from it.

    For example, can erasing war-time memories lessen PTSD, and to what extent? Or would said person simply exhibit the same symptoms and have no idea why?

    Since the symptoms revolve around reliving those experiences I wouldn't think it would be possible if you don't remember them.

    Actual christians (instead of the caricatures and straw men you see on slashdot and elsewhere) are rather happy about adult stem cell therapies and wholeheartedly support them.

    Speaking as one of those fundamentalist christains you've been warned about, I support adult stem cell research.

    What about sex? Last I looked, doing that for money was... frowned upon, at the least.

    Thats only if you pay more than one woman for it. If you pay the same woman on an installment plan ,that lasts the course of your lifetime, it's perfectly accetable.

    Hmm ... ELIZA + a speech synthesizer + some way to get free incoming calls = lots of wasted telemarketer time. It probably wouldn't take too long to get something like that set up with VoiP, either.

    You would have to have Speech Recognition software attached to eliza but it could be done.

    Generally getting a death threat that you believe is serious enough to call the FBI about certainly has some sort of potentially interesting backstory.

    I was on a jury that sentenced a guy for making death threats. I surprised the authorities aren't doing anything. Try the local police department if the FBI won't listen.

    As an employee for a non-profit, OSS has been a lifesaver but it will be difficult to find a replacement who will be familiar with the OSS applications and Linux.

    As an empolyee of a non-profit I call that job security.

    You know, I think Microsoft could afford to by some hardware for the US military, say, a few destroyers, some stealth aircraft, bombs, small arms... I'm sure the 'TCO' of death and destruction is far less than a business running Vista.

    That's because th navy is still using Windows NT last time I checked.
