"Torvalds is a chubby Gnome hating grinch. But Stallman is a dirty, unshaven hippy. Could they possibly live in the same house without driving each other mad?"
This idea isn't horrible, only problem is just WHO gets to decide who is an 'expert'? Some would argue that Daryl McBride is an expert in lawsuits, because he's filed so many...but you know...
I don't use slackware, or gnome, or kde, but I was a hardcore flux/fvwm user, until I found XFCE
Just the good parts of a DE, without every single application in the world with a stupid gui and a G/K stuck on the front

They work and work to get it ported everywhere, and once it works on a single box of that architecture, that's enough for them and they move on, look at SPARC, they don't support U1's, and they didn't even have SMP support until NetBSD 2.0
I know that I personally don't like my MP3's under 128kbps, that's where I draw the line, but if I was paying for Apple's service, I'd expect better than 128kbps for my money.
I do, however, listen to 128kbps streaming mp3s. But, those are free streams.

Imagine bluetooth enabled wearable computers, that could become clusters when in close proximity of each other. Image everyone at a soccer game wearing them; not only do you get to enjoy the game, but you make one huge super cluster.
I know that if someone told me my school had an underground system of tunnels, I'd be pretty interested in learning about them. Maybe he asked around and no one would talk?
So THIS is why all of the good tech jobs are getting outsourced. This whole time I thought it was because of the cheap labor, but people could never be that evil, right?
RedHat always has some weird reason to change random stuff that really made no difference seemingly just to piss people off, like xinetd, on regular systems, it was just inetd, then redhat had to be all different and put an x in front of it. *shakes head*
Where's the Torvalds vs. Stallman article?

If only people put that as a warning on livejournals...
Oh, people who want to do it there way? you mean like that Linus guy who didn't want to use minix so he made his own kernel? he must be crazy!

What they really need to do is release better Linux drivers, and care more about Linux support in general.
