They tried generic billboards in their games. I think I saw ads in the game for about a month before no one else put an ad there since no one cared. Now all those bill boards do is get in your way when you are running around narrow ledges on the sides of buildings.
So basically this is a post about encyclopedia dramatica?

I recently was told by my boss to go buy a computer for his business. And yes, it is used only to connect to the internet so I was looking to get one as cheap as possible. This means stores, craigslist, newegg. It is in a public place where appearances count so I was looking for a nice looking monitor and that was all.
Craigslist was the by far the best place for a tower for business related uses. I am amazed that the low end in stores were not low enough for what I wanted. I guess it is harder to turn a profit on them.
We do have time to goof off here, but most people play browser based games or the mafia game on myspace. Granted my work PC lets me run better games.
Let us note that even though Evolution is a theory, the proper thing to say is that it is not a law.
The definitions from www.M-W.com
Theory- a plausible or scientifically acceptable general principle or body of principles offered to explain phenomena.
Law- statement of an order or relation of phenomena that so far as is known is invariable under the given conditions.
A Theory is based on facts. On this note, gravity is just a theory, not a law.
Just one thing, about your need new books comment.
I don't think it is the version, so much as that the books are falling apart. Or did you never have that problem?
Blackheart is right. It is part of an alternate reality game.

Think majestic. This is not a marketing scam, virus, or anything else, just a game.
I take it no one remembers the Wazoo virus?

"If I remember correctly, it was a virus that made the word "Wazoo" appear in your word processor every time the "w" key was depressed. It circulated among students at the University of Washington. It's believed that the virus was written by a practical joker at Washington State University (WSU or Wazoo)."
I have only known muds to do something like AC1 where you can have some sort of effect in the game.
The only problem is it takes people in the game with the power to change what is going on. In Gemstone 3, there are invasions all the time. One GM actualy burned down parts of one town and they rebuilt it slowly over time. There is no ending to the game, but the GM's create a story line which you can interact in. Most MMORPG's lack any sort of interaction besides of pre-written, never-changing quests.
There is one game which has the option of not fighting in order to increase in power.
Gemstone 3 gave Empaths experince for doing no more than healing the wounded. They could sit in town, never hunt, and still gain experince. Rogues could pick locks, well more than just rogues, and still gain experince. And every time you searched foraged for an item you also got a bit of experince. Of course it is a mud though.
There were a few quests, but not many. And this game actualy falls under a true role-playing game.
