    Makes sense to me. Learning about business should involve going over the oldest profession. Let's hope that they go over why "the lowest bidder" isn't always the one you should select, though.

    So lambasting somebody's distaste of MS, but without actually posting counterpoints is up to snuff for discussion?

    1) "Needless upgrades". Vista had some very needed upgrades in the security department. Did they much up way more stuff than they should have besides that? YES. Security, such as making 3rd party programmers require Admin less and even the hated UAC, were needed.

    2) "Pointless eye candy". To not upgrade that would also be used as a negative comparison point to Apple or Linux based offerings. If anything, flame that poster for not turning the eye candy down or off and using the Win98'esqe UI.

    So... yeah. They lambasted a poster's personal opinion as unsupported garbage. Then they did nothing to show that their own opinion was more than unsupported garbage. "I'm surprised that a site like /. has"... no, wait. I'm not new here. I'm not surprised :P

    It's a statement of personal opinion. What kind of support is needed? Would you require such support if it was a positive statement? Or are you astroturfing?

    One might avoid putting too much information into the name, though. "Acct0001" or "HR0001" identify themselves as ideal targets for people to break in to and search for information. "Boss0001" is just as bad.

    A wiki has it's advantages for certain jobs and personality types, but so does the X-Prize foundation's approach. I can see the X-Prize method being great for not only improving various practices, but also being good for troop morale. The main thing is they keep trying different techniques rather than just throwing money at a situation. A little bit of fun and well placed change can be the best way to improve things.

    Will the government be making sure ads are also escaping censorship or will they be paying for the content they're sneaking in? If the ads are going to be left in, will they be made for the Chinese population? If it's stuff it owns, like the Stars and Stripes or Voice of America, will they get as many views?

    If time wasn't an issue, I wonder if taking a bunch of gill breathers and a oxygen enriched tank would produce something smarter. How would their societies evolve and what tools might come about. I think it's fairly obvious fire wouldn't be discovered for a good long while :P

    While doubtful, I want to know if the people in charge of this product are going to give us the "what the consumer wants" that WE want, what they THINK we want or SOS with a higher price tag. At some point these executives need to catch on that they're middle men and have a shrinking role in the game unless they work on increasing their assets rather than controls.
