Exactly. The Fremont factory just had a delivery of 53 more Kuka robots and 11 more Fanuc M5 assemblers. Hopefully they will be online by next week. Once they are finished building the Model 3 LR they will switch to building the Model Y. I think they should hit about 8,000 a week in production and eventually they will hit 100,000 per week.
WRONG. Tesla owners are ranked as the most satisfied owners of all the manufacturers and recalls are non-existent. If you visit the Tesla owners message boards you will see nothing but happy owners. Tesla quality is unmatched in the industry.
Exactly. This is different from the Nissan Leaf which uses wires strung everywhere instead of a PCB. As a result they can't balance the cells and the range is limited as an end result. The best thing about using a PCB is you can simply make the PCB bigger in the next iteration and add more cells. This is similar to adding more cores to a microprocessor.
Exactly. So well said. Traditional car makers just don't get it: you need to adapt an Agile process in order to make cars. You need to be able to adapt quickly. For example, if you suddenly realize you don't have enough production lines to make your $70k cars you can just build a tent and start making them there. That is what traditional carmakers don't understand: you have to make cool cars.
These are just growing pains, similar to what Amazon experienced in their early days. Remember them?? Once they have the new tents set up for production, the production rate will increase to 10k a week and then the money will come rolling in.
In addition they added a new tent for production last month. As they continue to ramp up production they will add more tents to the production line. This should solve the production issues.
No he wasn't, he is an independent analyst with no incentive to lie. The cost to buy the report is only $86,000 and is available for order. You should read it.
I took delivery of my Model 3 last month. I am really pleased with the fit and finish and overall quality. It is really impressive that they are able to build it for only $28,000.
It is funny that people consider flip phones to be ancient. Many people don't even have a mobile phone. I am 65 and I didn't have one until I was in my 30s.
I currently use NB-IOT, although it doesn't reach everywhere I need. I just bought a LoRa module to test things out recently too. A lot of interesting things are going on in that area!
I use 2G and 3G systems for my data logging projects. They are much cheaper. Eventually I am afraid I will need to use a full 4G LTE system (at least in the US).
I don't get it. Musk is a visionary Engineer. Not only has he singlehandedly changed the satellite launch industry AND brought us low cost EV's, he continues to provide innovative tunneling technology and solar power and battery powerwalls. He is truly one of the giants of the 21st century. I don't know why people have such a problem with the guy. Seems like he is doing only good to me!
I am going to order one now. It is only $149, but the price will get as high as $199. I better get it now so I can save $50! This is what I come to Slashdot for, not people complaining about Elon Musk.
No it isn't. You are selling $800-$1000 devices in a market where the per-capita yearly income is $616! And you are selling 17% more than the previous year, and the previous year you were selling 53% more than the year before! Eventually you run out of people who have $800-$1000 to spend on a device.
I don't know what you mean. Microsoft net profit was only $24 billion last year. This represents 0.004% of the cash they earned last year. Very generous and will help save the planet.
No, I am not "missing the picture". He is one of the biggest contributors to the Republican PAC dedicated to keeping Republicans in the House. And calling someone a pedophile is not "human emotion" and "frustration". It is disgusting behavior. Of course, worshippers like you will always have a defense and excuse.
Not only did he call a guy who rescued kids a "pedo" (https://www.cnbc.com/2018/07/16/british-diver-mulls-legal-action-after-elon-musk-calls-him-pedo-guy.html)
he also turns out to be one of the biggest contributors to Republican PAC's: https://thinkprogress.org/elon...
Totally indefensible, but I guess Rei and Bruce will try!
It is the same thing as people who buy a Tesla, but you can also virtue signal that you "care about the environment" while you drive around in your $80,000 car. Meanwhile, they have a gas guzzling SUV at home to haul the kids around when they decide not to take the Tesla out.
Nope. The story of the week, and they aren't posting about it. I mean, a major tech CEO is in the middle of a mental breakdown and they don't even have a single story about it.

I agree. Except for the part about the iPhone.
One of the advantages of a single payer system is bulk discounts. Congratulations to China!

Oh no. What will I do without my precious "mod points"? The horror!

Yeah, they only made 17% more than they did a year ago in India. Is everyone insane? 17% growth is good.

You are kidding right? The guy owns multiple garages of supercars.
I thought my $50,000 I make working in IT in Silicon Valley was a lot. I can't even imagine $150,000,000,000!
