Your credit card company/bank also sells your data on your purchases/credit to anyone who pays. There are companies that exist to build a personal profile of individual "consumers" and sell that data to anyone else who wants to pay for it. Yet people are worried about the government spying on them.
Exactly. That is why I don't pay for "content". They are already getting paid by selling you out to advertisers and anyone else that wants a personal profile of you.
Roku and Apple send Facebook, and anyone else that cares the pay, the information on what you are streaming, along with your IP and whatever else they care to send. Facebook then uses that information to send an ad to you. As an added bonus you are paying Apple and/or Roku a monthly fee so they can do this.
You are right. Rolex doesn't need 3,000 employees and it doesn't take 120,000 to build cars either. That is why there are these massive layoffs when the business goes bad. Example: Cisco and every other company ever.
Companies don't scale based on sales. Companies scale for the ego of the management. There is no reason that Microsoft needs 118,000 employees. But the problem is that managers like to hire people "under them". It makes them more important. Managers compare how many people report to them, and that is how they get promoted. Fitbit has 1200 employees. Why? Who knows? It doesn't take 1200 people to design, sell and market watches.
So I guess you never rented a car or a room at a hotel. Who knows? Maybe Mariott decides they need to charge you $10 more to make their quarterly revenue goals!
You are very naive. Roku and Apple know everything you do on your device.

In related news, productivity of workers in the UK was up 455% today.
Ha, I never post as AC. Space Nutters are anti-science nutbags. I don't have any friends either! So jokes on you! Er, wait...
Bullshit. The TSA never looks at documents.
Awww poor Space Nutter doesn't like me. Grow up and join the human race here on Earth. You aren't going anywhere.
I'm just kidding. I wouldn't touch Windows with YOUR ten foot pole.
He doesn't like Obama because of his "policies".
This will save me time from rolling out a custom image to our 90,000 desktops. Thanks Microsoft! I posted again!
Don't copy that floppy: 2016 version. Look, I posted again!

Sometimes people want to leave their house. I know, its crazy but true.
No wonder Space Nutters want to leave this planet so badly!
Who the heck is Trump? The only Trump I know is that TV guy Donald Trump with bad hair and no one would vote for that guy.
What news? Did anything happen recently? I haven't been paying much attention.
What is Buzz Aldrin doing at the South Pole? Is he the anti-Santa?
No he didn't. He won 2,600 out of the 3,100 counties. Why are you lying?
