Well, on os x i use http://www.adiumx.com/ (gaim in a cocoa interface) and on Windows i still to this day use http://www.miranda-im.org/, and did do so ever since ICQ clocked the official client with ad's.
The main issue i have with trillian is that is uses so many resources on doing a thing that souldent use any resources, plus the app is just... well, slow.
But it is really cool that they have gotten the video conference support, i really hope to see a OSS app that can do that. (yes i know of http://gaim-vv.sf.net/ - but it just doesnt work all that well)
...One could wonder if they have an emergency plan if e.g. some evil hacker was to shut down all their servers. Unless they got remote power management it would be a looong day on the phone with a lot of people.
What a shame that disney is moveing away from 2d animation, no 3d animation can ever be compared to the life like strokes and personality there lies in such a piece of work.
Not saying that Shrek or Finding Nimo could have been done better using 2d animation, but can anyone picture donnald in 3d. Its just not the same.

It's quite easy not to mention firefox directly. "The best crossplatform oss browser arround" and so fourth :)
