I regret not being more specific in my original post. I consider linux to be a server OS, and server builds of linux are generally very secure by default. Desktop versions of linux often have MANY security flaws - but who cares, very few people use it.
I purposely did not use the word "safety", and by your use of it you are trying to change my argument into one you can attack.
Please re-read the sentence that I purposely emphasized by asking the reader to re-read. I spoke only of zealots who tell people that OSX is *inherently* more secure.
Most of your argument applies to subjects I did not touch on. A bit of a waste of typing by my lights.
As for your claim that OSX has improved it's security in recent years - *how could you know that*? Because you read it somewhere? The people at Pearl Harbor probably had vastly superior security in 1941 than they did in 1930 - a fat bit of good that did them.
You can't judge security in a vacuum. Linux as a server OS is under a constant barrage of attacks. Windows as both a server and desktop OS is under a constant barrage of attacks.
OSX in under about the same volume of attacks as Bakersfield, CA.
Certainly it does - it points out the fact that OSX provides unfettered access to the battery firmware. The idea that battery firmware even *needs* a password is a little frightening.
Lets make a bet. I wager 100 quatloos that if Apple issues a fix, it will be to the OS and not the battery firmware.
You must be judging my interest in discussion from some other post; there was nothing to discuss in yours. It would be disingenuous for you to argue differently. If you have an opposing argument I would be happy to consider it.
You may be suffering under a misconception though; I work on a lot of different platforms. Each has it's merits. The closest thing to being a fanboy that I ever exhibit would be for the music of ELO.
It's hard to separate the OS from the platform when it comes to Apple. I'm reasonably sure that my Compaq laptop battery does not have firmware that is accessible by malicious code. Reasonably.:)
I'm guessing you hit reply before you engaged the reading comprehension engine in your head. Still felt the need to say something so that your effort was not wasted I see. Sort of sad really.
To argue anything different would be to argue that Bakersfield, CA is more secure than NYC because they have had no terrorists crash their planes into buildings there.
Linux is a fortress with only occasional breaches, Windows looks bad in comparison only because it is a user OS and is under an unrelenting attack.
To all the apple guys out there who tell people that macs are inherently more secure than PCs - shame on you. And if you are a mac user who takes exception to that last sentence, be a flagrant non-conformist and re-read it before you hit the reply button.
Frothing anger whilst you type some variation of "I never do that, how dare you flame ALL mac users" makes you look like a entirely different type of fool than the ones described.
I understand you are blind to your own biases and issues. That doesn't mean you are not causing problems. I would bet real money that you would score high on the spectrum were you to honestly take any autistic spectrum test.
>> If I want kids, I'll go with a contract marriage that spells out the responsibilities of both parties. >> Much cheaper in the long run and ensures that there is no possibility of being nailed for spousal >> support or Alimony because of the contract.
A bit of a coward too, nice combination Mr AC / fast turtle.
Every time a wacko like you misuses the ADA it weakens the case of actually disabled people. You doing that shit dilutes the meaning of "disabled". Now, this is not to say that Aspergers people like yourself are not *socially* disabled, but that is not what the ADA is for.
It's just all about you and what bothers you; who care who you hurt in your holy crusade. I guess that is right out of the dictionary definition of autistic spectrum, isn't it?
So, what does this have to do with backs and back pain? Someone please speak to the submitter and let them know that this site is for "News for Chiropractic Spammers, backs that matter".
Best comment so far. The sad thing is that presumably *developers* were the ones to make these design decisions. I wonder what desktop *they* use where no one can see.
Please re-read the first line of my post. Specifically the first four words.
"The exact mechanism for how you 'keep an eye out' is not my problem"
Well fuck you buddy. You want to throw out your completely impractical opinion about what someone else should be doing with their own property and then not want to back it up?
You got busted on your horseshit - but you can't back down. This has nothing to do with property rights and everything to do with you being an idiot who wishes to find fault in a business that specifically objects to behavior that you embody.
So.... your little plan is to *ban* her, eh? Exactly how is that supposed to work... Hmmmmm?
You want to put barcodes on the arms of each patron? Hmmmm?
Check each customer's picture ID as they come in against a database of people like you / assholes? Hmmmm?
Their policy could not be more fair - it does not discriminate against any particular person. Only behavior that is anti-social.
That lady is more than welcome to return and enjoy a movie any time. All she has to do is not be a complete and total asshole; so pretty much the opposite of what you do.
Hopefully Google will listen to your rant and not include that bloatware anymore that we did not ask for - I mean, who asked for a kernel anyways?
The next version will be kernel optional I wager.
And yet you still have nothing to add to the discussion. I stand by my original reply to you.

Please reply, it would be cowardly not to.

REALLY high on the spectrum. Big money.

Good thing you are posting anonymously, betcha don't want to get caught again!
Next stop on the information highway: Nutsville, population: you
Shame on you for mis-using the ADA for your pet peeves. Asshole.
Will you change my bedpan? I promise not to hock a lugy down your throat as you lean over me.
That works for tracking everyone else.
I'd pay 14 protein shots to your esophagus for such software. Do you have large flexible ears to help me help you?
Also, if you have a goatee, that would provide quality cushioning for my 'boys.
So, what does this have to do with backs and back pain? Someone please speak to the submitter and let them know that this site is for "News for Chiropractic Spammers, backs that matter".
Would you possible be classified as "neurologically atypical" by the teams of specialists that you were paraded in front of as a young child?
March for a cure, dude.
Actually, my subject makes me seem more excited than I am. I regret any misunderstanding.
Carry on.
I'm having trouble understanding the amount of value involved - I mean, who uses *dollars* anymore?!?
I've been 100% invested in Quatloos for years and I'm not looking back!
Maybe the Alamo is different, but around here even local theaters has constantly rotating staff. So, what do you do? Keep mugshots to train new staff?
Institutional memory at a business with constant turnover does not exist.
It is just a stupid and unworkable idea. What the theater does cannot be improved upon.

You are a moron. That must suck for you. Sorry.

He can't do that - it would inconvenience *him* - only OTHERS should be inconvenienced by his lifestyle choices.
My password is tYidsasaf770 and my IP is 198.81.129.125 - can someone try this GPU thingie on me? I want to be secure as possible. Thanks...
