Most of your sense of taste is in fact from smell. I saw a tea tasting expert have his nose blocked before tasting a hot drink. He couldn't tell the difference between tea and coffee.
So, if they've got smell down, taste isn't too far away:)
shock! horror! Wikipedia is wrong on that:) I imagine they fell into the trap that started this thread. Just 'cos it's called a buffalo doesn't make it one.
I'm talking about scientifically accepted names for the distinct species, not just colloquial names;) But yes, your fellas were around them first. Were there any other tribes in contact with bison? I wonder what they called 'em...
Buffalo are "Bubalus arnee", Bison are "Bison bison". They're both bovines, but that's where their similarity ends. It'd be like calling a cow a buffalo.
Of course you can. Linux is trying to take over the desktop, right? Well, if there are no desktops willing to have linux on them, it's died. Linux not being on computers == linux dead.
It's all running on Darwin, so you can get your hands on anything you want. The dev boxes were supposed to have serious security on them, yet that was cracked in days.
It works, and works really well.
I have a prescott, so rosetta works unpatched. It can run iTunes, for example, perfectly. I downloaded that off the apple website.
The GUI is really quick, even though I don't have drivers for my graphics card (geforce). Sound, USB, FireWire, ATA, Networking all work perfectly.
I even have it dual-booting with my XP, and I didn't have to re-install XP or use another boot-loader to accomplish it, either. It was a very straight-forward process, involving a port of DD, a spare hard disk, and a couple of hours time.
aaah!:)
I'm not talking about solitaire, but the latest video games. Of course you could play some basic on-line game on any browser, but if you want to play a game that uses extensive 3D, you'll need windows, or you'll need to wait for the linux port, and hope you can find drivers that work for your gpu:-P
That's all fine, but then what if they want to play games on their PC? You're gonna need microsoft for that - no-one else seems to have cracked games and drivers on their systems.
Hahaha! That's funny. Etoy didn't ruin eToys. Etoy started the campaign to try to degrade the browsing experience on etoys.com, by getting people to link to the images, which was quickly stamped out by adding a domain for assets. They also tried to email etoys employees pleading them to sabotage the company from within. All those emails were forwarded to the legal team asap.
etoy had a cause, no doubt about that, but they were really, really small fry in the battle. I think you'll find Amazon had more to do with etoys' downfall than a few stoners from Europe;)
Technically it's fraud, but how is downloading a film keeping money from someone? You'd have to assert people would buy a DVD/album if they didn't download it. That's complete rubbish.
Jeeeeeebus christ this crap keeps going on and on. Doesn't the Justice Department know the meaning of the word "thieves" or "steal"? Clearly not, as copyright infringement, even for commercial gain, is NOT theft. It's NOT stealing. It's copyright infringement. Just like how it's not murder or grand theft auto, it's not stealing by any legal definition.
When I use drag'n'drop, I sometimes use the keyboard to move windows out of the way while I still have my "payload" dragging. Of course, I stay away from the mouse most of the time, and I don't use drag'n'drop much any more. Copying/moving files/text around is done solely on my keyboard, not the mouse.
When you can't see the target window, drag'n'drop IS about switching between windows. If it wasn't, why would this technique be useful?:)
XP won't crash just because you don't have SATA drivers:) As for the power supply, just get an adaptor to run a floppy drive. I have a SATA hard disk and was in the same situation (I didn't even get a driver disk with my controller, which sucked). Windows just won't find your disk if you don't have the driver. If your computer crashes, it might be something more serious.
Not to mention the quality of programming is far, far superior to that in America. I don't want to sound like some sort of idiot here, but I've watched a lot of US TV, and the good stuff is few and far between. We get loads more documentaries and factual programming, as the BBC has an obligation to educate as well as entertain. Not having to pander to sponsors means they don't have to go for the lowest common denominator, which is good if you don't like crap soap operas and shit like Fear Factor:)
So, if they've got smell down, taste isn't too far away :)

I'm the same as you - my main reason for getting it to work is to show my fan-boy friends, too ;)
So, as inaccurate names go, "Black Bart" is right up there with "caring conservative". ;)

As you can see, they don't look anything alike.
Some drunk frat guys would only try and stick beer bottles up their arses or make them smoke meth... I can see this ending in tears :-P
They were Bison, actually ;) Buffalo were never in north america.

*yaaaawn* been at that there kool-aid again? so predictable. :-P
and give me some freakin' nvidia kexts that work, dammit.

Dreamweaver produces really terrible code. Every WYSIWYG editor does. Word's HTML is even worse, but dreamweaver's isn't fit to be put on a website.

In every sense of the word :)
Seriously. It looked like complete ass. I had to stop looking at the screenshots.

They don't, though. :)
