Finally an article when I can talk about Slackware and NOT be a troll. Actually if you look on linuxquestions.org you'll see that there are a LOT of slackware users that use a gui.
Then why do you suppose there's 10 times as many posts in the linuxquestions.org forum as there is for any other distro. Slackware may not be widely used commercially, but as desktop linux, & linux for newbies, it is doing quite well.
You should get it when it shows up on
swaret --list -u
Usually anything of interest is available within 2-3 days of its release. & if you don't have swaret, you need to get it.
Crappy? Are you kidding? I've tried every distro that has an iso available for download, both linux and BSD and now I have slackware on ALL my machines. It has good hardware detection, and EVERTHING works the way it's supposed to. Sure you have to edit a few config files by hand, but once it's set up it's better than everything else out there, including red hat, which was always kind of annoying to me anyways.

... with any luck his cellmate ordered some penis enlargement medication.
It won't cost you anything to try again. Visit linuxiso.org
Would have been nice if they were listed.
Sweet, thanks for the tip
I run version 6 on wine on a daily basis. A few annoyances, but it works.
Why is that flamebait? But if it is call me a slackware troll too.
swaret --upgrade -a Swaret does everything apt does except hose your sytem.
... Or get him a job with the NSA
it just HAD to be said
You want some chees with that whine?

If the "stolen" code was released under BSD liscence, wouldn't that make their (SCO's) contract with Novell null and void?
