Yeah, I was in DSE and the "Ferrari" they had their was falling appart (The screen was coming appart and the keyboard was sought of lifting off). I know it was a demo but none of the other brands where doing this... Plus the whole "Carbon fiber" look was so wanky.
I think the DS lite is a really good design, the original ds was a little tacky but this new one looks better. The only handhelds i have seen around of late have been the DS. Ohh and _one_ PSP held by some rich kid on release day. I will be buying a ds lite. Good to see it is going off:D
The new Nintendo DS Lite is smaller (just 133mm x 73.9mm x 21.5mm, compared to 148.7mm x 84.7mm x 28.9mm ) and lighter (weights just 218g instead of 275g) than the previous model. The Start & Select button positions have been changed, they are now located below the four action buttons at the lower right. Also the microphone and power LED indicator are now at a different position.
Further the screen backlight can be adjusted in 4 steps. The name "Lite" consists of the words "light" and "bright".
Not to mention that redesign is hot. I am not afraid to admit one reason i didn't buy an original DS is because the silver and shape looked tacky.
"Reggie Fils-Aime revealed today that Nintendo has sent out around 1,000 Revolution development kits. "The response to the controller has been fantastic. Developers are truly embracing the innovation. They're embracing the approach and quite frankly, they're embracing our vision" Reggie said."
Good to see the Revolution is getting embraced. I hope it rocks the socks of the other next gens. Nintendo really love to innovate and they deserve alot of popularity.
I can't wait for the DS lite.. I knew there was a reason I was holding off buying the DS. Not to mention it is going to be released in "crystal white", I really have no idea what that looks like but it sounds HOT!!!
Hmm i haven't really had a go with the 360 controller yet. From photos the thing i can see that I think would annoy me is the "squared" trigger buttons, if they are as uncomfy as they look they should take a page from the gamecube/wavebird and make nice concave triggers. As mentioned above I love them. Apart from that it looks like a big improvement over the original xbox controller; Ill reserve proper judgement for when i give it a proper test run.
The problem i found with the N64 controller was that the 'stick' in the middle got so worn and floppy. In fact it produced a white powder from the wearing down, people thought this powder was addictive and that was why the controller was so popular:P Apart from that it is ok, it takes a bit of getting used to with having theoretically 3 positions to hold and if you are used to different controllers the button placement might seem a little weird but there was a reason it was so widely loved, it really was a great controller.
In my opinion... Best: -Gamecube: Love the layout and the shape is a joy to hold. The shoulder buttons are a dream to use they feel so good and they are easy to reach while still using the other buttons. The controller also feels solid and comfortable enough for hours upon hours of gaming. -SNES: This just wins for simplicity. It was really my first experience with a videogame controller and it just works and I still like the feel. It is just so natural, especially for when it was made.
Worst: -Xbox: What can I say? Big, Awkward grips, bad button placement. -PS2: I know Ill get flamed for this one because there are so many fan boys but to me it feels flimsy and tacky... I don't know how to explain it, it feels so plasticy, almost hollow and the plastic is shiny and not good to touch... It doesn't entice me to play for hours like other controllers do. -Commie64 joystick: It was ok except you needed to arm wrestle the stick to get the character to move:(
I know I havent used that many controllers but these are the best and worst from my experience.
Yup, from that it sounds like it takes a stereo track and trys to split it into surround or something. No matter how well it works it will suck compared to true surround.
So you think they write the EULA's for fun ? They don't actually want you to follow them they just put them there to look flashy? Wether a EULA is legaly binding or not, they put them in there because they want you to follow them as a term of using their software.
Don't be so patronising. I admit my spelling isn't perfect and my grammar sucks, but it doesn't mean you have to generalise and infer that Australia is a country of illiterate idiots.
Where you Mr Perfect at 17? (Please say no or you will ruin my point or simply look arrogant)
You have the right to return the software if you find you don't agree with the EULA. That is what i have heard and i have seen it in action. Maybe the storekeepers don't know the legality of it either so they just give a refund to save any problems.
1) I know alot of people who say dee-bark-ull... That is how i have always heard it... I don't see why you care so much. 2) So what if I say it differently to you ? I mean, go have a cry.
This is a "tomato" type situation. The way i pronounce it and have always heard it is with an r sound... something like this but not quite http://cougar.eb.com/sound/d/debacl02.wav. You might pronounce it differently.... I don't care.. you all knew what i mean so get over it....
I wasn't quite sure on the spelling so i spelt it how it is pronounced. (dee-bar-kol or dee-bar-kel)
I figured someone would correct me and save me the effort of looking for the correct spelling;)
I didn't word that correctly. I meant most of the 'crackers' running it on non apple x86 hardware. It is really beside the point if they didn't pay for it, i think apple is using the term pirate in a more general sense. They feel it is getting stolen if it is used on anything other than their hardware.
The point is most people using the intel osx aren't paying for it. People don't want to pay money for something they don't know if they are going to get to work on their hardware.
IT'S IN THE EULA. Wether you think it is legal or illegal it is in the EULA which you agree to when using the software. It may not technically be binding where you are from but it is still a written contact you agree to when installing osx. Thom pretty much covers what i mean http://osnews.com/story.php?news_id=13730

Umm i hate to inform you, that isn't an Australian accent.

Me and every other Australian i have heard say it go DEE-BAR-KEL. Now everyone get over it :D
You all seem to think that law is the only thing that matters.
If it isn't illegal there is no problem doing it ?
Sorry i meant http://cougar.eb.com/sound/d/debacl01.wav

Don't start some stupid private vs. public debate. What exactly is wrong with my reasoning ?
